BBC Home Entertainment has announced the Blu-ray release of Being Human: Season Five, starring Damien Molony, Michael Socha and Kate Bracken as the series' vampire/werewolf/ghost trio. The fifth and final season features six episodes spread across two discs, and arrives on Blu-ray on August 20th.
Synopsis: Season Five follows Hal (Molony), Tom (Socha) and Alex (Bracken) as they continue their search for their lost humanity. But numerous threats once again lurk around every corner. There is the volatile and deluded Crumb (Colin Hoult), a newly recruited vampire, and the sinister Mr. Rook (Steven Robertson), head of a secret government department tasked with keeping supernatural activity under wraps. With bills to be paid, our heroes take jobs in a kitschy hotel where, alongside the tacky décor and cocktail umbrellas, dwells an evil greater than anything Hal, Tom and Alex have faced before: Captain Hatch (Phil Davis). On the face of it, he's just another foul-mouthed, decrepit old man, but he hides a dark secret that threatens not only our heroes' friendships but the entire world.
Being Human: Season Five features 1080p video, Dolby Digital 2.0 audio and the following extras:
Exclusive Content
Five Bonus Clips: "Alex's Unfinished Business"
Deleted Scenes
Cast Interviews
The blu-ray extras look the same as the uk / europe dvd/blu-ray release and the DVD and blu-ray are available to pre-order now from Amazon.com
It is HalGal, the series 4 BBC America version also featured a blood covered Hal!
The DVD release date for series 5 given on the BBC America Shop is 30 July... I doubt that will be the case now the premiere for the show has been postponed to 13 July!
I hope the US features are the same, I bought the 5 series set from the UK last month! Funny, it was cheaper to buy the 5 series set from Amazon.uk, than the 3 series set from the US.

So I have S5 on DVD and Blu-Ray, UK encoded. I can play the DVD's on my computer because I switched the designation on Media Player (which means I can't play US DVD's on there) but the Blu-Ray will not work on my player. So I have to decide if I want to order the US ones as well... or buy a new Blu-Ray player...
Kimberly, they should be identical. I got S4 US DVDs and Blu-Ray and they include the same things as the UK ones.

That's good. I suppose if anything is different someone would post it anyway. I have a region free DVD player, they're surprisingly cheap! So I spend a fair amount of my fun money on Amazon.uk! Problem is I can't lend the DVDs out and it hard to get friends over to watch. But at least I've got a new bunch of online friends who have seen some of the things I have. Hope I can make it to one of the Hal Chats.

It is fab you will be getting the same extra as the uk on the US version of the dvd and blu-ray, as I understand it, BBC America has sadly not made the exclusive online scenes available online! but these will be on the dvd.
Could someone please clarify if the US Series 4 dvd has the same episode content as uk? when series 4 (and so far series 5) of BH aired on BBC America, there were edits to the content, it would be good to think that content would be fully available internationally.
the question about DVD content is even more pressing now, after the news that BBCA butchered episode 5 on Saturday night. I would be so grateful if one of our american fans with the US dvd could let us know!
