I think that pocket watch in the trailer is his. And... it sure sounds like he's the one that says "these streets, they're awful."
Many many THUDERRIFIC moments today with the trailer and his tweet. *le sigh* November 4th cannot come soon enough! (well ok, I am looking forward to Oct 28th as well, but the episodes he's in will be extra special.)

I think you might be right Lisa, my first thought was this is Inspector Reid, but today, when I could finally tear my eyes away from just the Damien bits () I did have a flash of excitement that it could be Flight!
Well the first time i saw the trailer was in my local McDonalds with the kids in tow. I watched it, saw Damien and said 'there he is' and my daughter replied 'who mum?' and when i told her i got the now infamous teen girl embarrassed at mum eye roll.
I had to wait until i got home and got some RL stuff out of the way before i could watch it on my laptop with ear plugs in.
I'm pretty sure the first shot we see is the back of his head. He looks like he has a black eye when he's in Reid's office, it's interesting that Drake makes the comment of a 'bad man becoming good' and the next shot is of Damien. Again, i'm wondering whether this is connected to something i was speculating about here and also indirectly on Twitter earlier this week. It's definitely Damien saying 'bless me father' but the more i listen to it, the more i don't think it's Damien making the comment about the streets. It doesn't sound like him, even as a whisper but i'm not 100% certain.
But series two looks like it's going to be a corker, in just over a week's time i'll be beside myself with excitement.
Ruby - I'm already beside myself....!! That RS countdown is almost at single figures - in a weeks time I'll be somewhere else entirely! .....ah yes...the teenage daughter eye roll - am totally familiar with that one! In fact, on Wed night, when I just caught the end of the 'coming soon' trailer and shouted 'OH MY GOD - THAT'S RIPPER STREET' (or words to that effect!!) I got similar treatment from my OH!
I'm sooo pleased to see that Damien is not only in the trailer...but in it twice!! I think that bodes very well for screen time. lol! I can't wait to actually see it - let alone the series - on my tv. Damien's going to be back on tv.....very soon!!!!

My first thought was that it's Flight, but I think, as the next shot is of Reid leaving his house with a black bowler on, I think it's him. Flight is wearing a grey bowler in all his shots anyway...
I agree, Fifi, about the fact that he's in twice. Hopefully lots of him throughout the series (once he turns up anyway!)
Last night I had the "OMG that's Flight" moment too. I didn't even think about the hat, I was looking at the hair & shape of head. I don't think the hat is necessarily part of the shot, could have been added onto it for the title. Also, if it is from actual footage, just because the hat is in the shot doesn't necessarily mean it belongs to that person. However... I looked at the trailer a few more times looking at the collars. That looks like Reid's thicker collar that folds over to cover his tie. Flight's colar stands up, you can see the tie along the side, I'm assuming there would be a band around the back? And MAYBE just maybe I detect Reid's sideburns? Too blurry to be 100 % sure. But I'm going with Reid.
I'm still torn about the "these streets, they're aweful". Even at a whisper it doesn't sound like one of the three principles. Could be someone else entirely but sounds a bit like Damien. The pauses/intonnation sound like him. I guess more research in order. If I must...

I assumed that opening shot was Reid too. And I thought the "these streets..." voice was Drake.....but, as everyone else has said, it's really hard to tell.
sorry, I couldn't let it go... the back of the head is Reid. Here's the companion shot. I can see a small portion of the mirror frame sticking out from the right side of the head and to the left it looks like that wall sconce.
fifi, one of the reasons I thought "the streets" comment is Flight is because he's new there. Drake grew up in those streets and he was at war, seen really bad stuff. So I wouldn't think it was Drake. But it still IS hard to tell.

Something I just thought of, remember the dismembered arms and legs Damien tweeted about 7 1/2 weeks ago? That was a couple of days before their last shooting day, so I'm assuming it's something towards the last couple episodes. I wonder what that's going to be about???

so ... detectives....on closer inspection... let's investigate...the hair, the hair line...the collar, is there a glimpse of sideburn or not? (Flight does not have sideburns, Reid does) how about the ears?
In conclusion...I agree with all of you it is not Flight! the giveaway for me, those are not Damiens' ears!
It is a wonderfully made trailer...exciting that a Flight line is used, 'I have sinned'.... the perfect teaser for his character. And yet, I still cannot quite make out what voice he is going to use! excited to find out....
I too thought that the 'these streets' line was also Damien..but after the gazillionth watch, like you whimsy, I am still not sure! what does everyone else think?
