The pall of personal tragedy looms over the men of H Division as, from far shores, a very real and very valuable symbol of the British Empire’s wealth arrives in the form of an uncut diamond.
It is a stone ‘freed’ from the diamond monopoly of De Graal by one Daniel Judge, Captain Jackson’s reckess and untrustworthy elder brother.
As Jackson absorbs both the potential wealth of this gem and the deep personal irritation of his sibling, Reid and Flight are drawn to the plight of a local craftsman defrauded of his work and income by a sophisticated long-firm scam - a deception that is to return H Division to the malign influence of Detective Inspector Jedediah Shine.
Meanwhile, Long Susan finds herself powerless to resist the ever-encroaching influence that Silas Duggan is determined to exert on her life.
So he's sitting in a bar drinking lemonade! And he's very contemplative. And the Priest that he confessed "I am a liar." to is in the credits again. Interesting....

I wasn't sure if it was the same priest, or dealing with something else in the story. But it is being played by the same person, so very likely dealing with Flight.

i really think we will see a little more of Flight in this one, and find out more about those secrets. Ripper Street does extend it's story arcs across the 8 episodes and like the individual character stories last series, I suspect this one with Flight will not be left as a loose end. So yes that is my deduction whimsy!
Only 3 days until the next episode! I know these are sad times for Ripper Street, but let's honour the hard work, the creativity and the specialness of what remains by just celebrating the hell out of it!
On the basis that Flight is actually mentioned in the ep synopsis, I have been more excited by this ep than any other since ep4. The fact that, so far, we still have no clues as to what the secrets hinted at in the character profile actually are means that I am, perhaps, getting a little too excited for this episode!
A time of revelation for Man of Secrets, DC Flight?
DC Flight (Damien Molony) considers his next move, Ripper Street 2 Episode 7. (c) Tiger Aspect
Detective Constable Albert Flight has been on quite a journey since his arrival at H Division in Ripper Street Series 2 and us along with him. From the moment they met, Flight has been trying to prove to Detective Inspector Reid (Matthew MacFadyen) that he is worthy not only of more than archives research, coffee and Hansom cab fetching, but of his trust and respect, at times a seemingly impossible challenge, even after considerable success not only in office based tasks, but in his undercover mission in episode 4, directly resulting in uncovering a bomb plot.
But the common thematic thread for Flight, providing gripping suspense across the series, has been the secrets that he holds – secrets hinted at even before we met him, in his character profile and the Series 2 trailer, which showed a glimpse of him confessing to a priest, a confession to which we have seen no resolution, only further intrigue, when he told the priest, “I am a liar” at the beginning of episode 5.

The Official Synopsis for upcoming Episode 7 hints at more ‘on-the-scene’ involvement for DC Flight, but shown deep in thought in the above promo photos for the episode, it appears some soul searching may also be on the cards for him. Will this be the moment we uncover his hidden secrets? and will he move further towards or away from the trust that he seeks from Inspector Reid? Perhaps the penultimate instalment of the Victorian drama will be the moment of revelation for this man of mystery and for those of us who have become immersed in his intrigue.
Ripper Street continues on Monday 9 December, 9pm BBC One.
With huge thanks to Tiger Aspect Productions for providing us with the promotional photos and the kind permission to share them.

What are your thoughts and theories on the possible secrets of DC Albert Flight? come and tell ushere!
Yes, a huge thank you to the wonderful tiger Aspect for generously sharing the pics for our use! the second one is an exclusive and it is a lovely one. Please don't copy them anywhere else folks - and if you see other people doing so feel free to (only metaphorically) billy club n cuff 'em!
I thought this would hearten us a bit. She's a writer and editor for Inside Media Track. It's cute, if you click on her Twitter profile, her banner is Flight. She's such a Damien fangirl! She's that look into "Suspects" then the next day it was officially announced.

So I'm 99.9% sure that his secrets will be revealed in Ep 7 and he'll finally be accepted by Reid. He has to step up as Drake will be AWOL. Not sure if that will carry through till Ep 8, or if Drake will be back on force and Flight will be delegated to the background again. I hope not!
I don't understand why there wasn't a peep about him in the "next time" trailer, though I suppose the Drake & Jackson/Susan dramas have the biggest draw.

It feels like this week's story is connecting all the arcs together, so it's understandable that it's Reid and Jackson in the teaser, but good news about lots of Flight and that second pic cracks me up; very pensive look.
Maybe his secret is so huge that even a glimpse of it would be a major spoiler? But looking forward to more Flight on Monday :)
Can't deny that I've been thinking much the same thing myself....or that maybe this ep will just give more teasers, and the revelation/resolution won't come until ep 8....
perhaps this upcoming episode will see a dilemma for Flight, whether to revel his secrets or not? or will they be revealed for him? From these photos (thanks again to the awesome Iain at Tiger Aspect) it certainly looks as if there is much soul searching for him in this episode. and you know what that means..... we are in for a treat because we know, as part of his incredibly broad range, Damien's talents do angsty very well indeed....
Just doing a quick read, none of those lines sound like something Flight would say. But the one mentioning him is clearly Reid and the one about housebreaking is most likely about Flight. *giggle*
