About Damien and the Forum

 

The Damien Molony Forum is not official and not endorsed by Damien or his representatives. It is something your humble webmistress was inspired to create for other fans so we had an online home, a place with infinite space and potential, to discuss his work, express our admiration, show our support and create a fandom. 

The Forum is however known to Damien who has expressed his appreciation for the work we do and our support.

The Damien Molony Forum began 21st March 2012 (yes we have been going for almost 6 years!).

In the early days, we had literally a handful of members, myself and a few who found their way over here.

We now have:

1,500 members who join us here from all over the world, with 1,838 discussion topics and a total of 55,979 comments. [last edit 21 October 2018].

But DMF is not only the forum!

The fan site damienmolony.org was created shortly after the forum, which is the most up to date and detailed resource on the web with info and news on Damien's work.  There are a total of 408 written features and 218 info pages on Damien's work, including the most in-depth biography, filmography, exclusive news, photos, videos, interviews, reviews and more.

Combined, damienmolonyforum.com and damienmolony.org receive an average of 150,000 hits per month!

The DMF & Damien Charity fundraisers

 Damien has also helped and collaborated with DMF to fundraise for charity for 4 years running.

 

Embrace CVOC, January 2015

From 13 January - 10 February 2015 The Damien Molony Forum and Suspects TV Show fanpage ran a fundraiser for Embrace CVOC, a charity helping child victims of crime.  With Damien's help we raised £580.18! Damien kindly personalised a huge number of items for the prize draw, including photos and DVD covers. Read more about that here

 

Make A Wish Ireland, January 2016

January 2016 The Damien Molony Forum ran a fundraiser for Make A Wish Ireland and with Damien's help raised £256 to help make a New Year wish come true for children battling life-threatening illnesses. Damien kindly gave us a personalised Clean Break DVD for the prize draw. Read more about the Make A Wish fundraiser here

 

The Mega Molony Memorabilia Charity Prize Draw, for MIND & Combat Stress, December 2016

Autumn 2016 Damien gifted the forum with very special mementos (props, costumes, signed posters, photos) from his projects (Being Human, Suspects, The Body Of An American, Tiger Raid, No Man’s Land). His exclusive goodies enabled us to run a ‘Mega’ charity Prize Draw (from 10 October to 4 December) and raise £1040 for two very important causes Combat Stress, the UK’s leading veterans’ mental health charity and Mind, the leading mental health charity in England and Wales.  King Lear Charity Prize Draw For Age UK, December 2017

Damien personally organised a programme signed by him and every single cast member of the Chichester Festival Theatre production of King Lear for our 2017 charity prize draw, which ran from 27 November to 17 December 2017. With his help and support during the campaign, we fundraised a total of £445 for Age UK the largest UK charity supporting older people.

Wow! That was beautiful domino. This forum has had an amazing journey. Loved learning about the bit of history of the forum. You and the other mods have done an tremendous job with thiS site thus far and I am honored to be joining you girls on the journey and can't wait to see what Damien and you girls have up your sleeves next. 

 

By the way, how cool and sweet is he to the forum! That's fantastic! Not all actors are like that, so it is awesome that he is.

Glofigs (aka Damtheman) glad you enjoyed reading, as a newer member I hope that gave you an insight into the journey the forum has been on from it's very humble beginnings!
Agree with you very much, Damien has always been really awesome to the forum. He already gives everything through his work so we cannot really have any expectation of him beyond that, so each of the above has been a wonderful gift to receive. hug

yeah, all these pixs and threads and stuff as sort of inspired me a bit int he new year to maybe send some starbucks or dunkin donuts to him.

Hi Forumers!



Just a little update on the feedback we have had in recent weeks from Damien via forumers who have spoken with him at stage doors.


First of all, Damien received our Christmas card and lemon tree lemon and said he loved having his own lemon tree!

He has been exceptionally busy working non-stop for some weeks now, but I hope that feedback puts a smile on your faces.

He also received the Forum break a leg and birthday card. Huge thanks to Kat and Laura for break and leg and birthday card deliveries!

Second, a nice bit of feedback via Su and Whimsy (thanks ladies!) Damien said on Tuesday,

"obviously I am absolutely thrilled with everything that is happening with the forum."

Always good to hear and thought you would all enjoy hearing that too!

I just want to share a few details on Damien's words about the forum from Tuesday.  Su and I were sitting at a table just outside the Stage Door and Damien came out in a clear rush.  As he passed us, Su asked if we could borrow him for a minute to talk to Domino on the phone.  (This was something she and I discussed throughout the day but only told Domino right before.  We would ask and if he said yes we would call her.)  He stopped and said he couldn't right then because William was going to give him a lift home, but "definitely next time".  He could have left it at that, but then he added, "Obviously, I'm absolutely thrilled with everything that is happening with the forum," before he rushed off.

Both he and William had other groups of people waiting for them, and both stopped for a few seconds with us, then hurried off.  There was one man who managed to grab Damien's sleeve and stop him to commend his performance, and Damien politely thanked him, but rushed away before anyone else accosted him.  William also came up to us and exchanged a quick word (he knew I'd flown to England and had come a couple times) and a woman managed to stop him for a few seconds, but he also left without giving any of the other groups attention or stopping for photos or autographs. 

We were disappointed at first for being shunned, but of course he really didn't shun us, just had to go quickly.  Damien was extremely generous with his time on Saturday with the big group of 10 of us that came to see him at once, even though he was clearly exhausted from 2 performances that day, and on Monday there were four of us, plus another group, and once again he chatted with us and posed for pictures and signed things.  We'd already gotten a good amount of time with him.  It was just a shame Domino didn't get a little chat, but I'm hoping that "next time." will be very soon  (say April 3rd???)  and am looking forward to hearing all about the call and what is said.  biggrin

Thanks for writing the fuller account whimsy, I felt it was your story to tell. Thank you again for the very generous gesture!
That was the most special part for me, felt like I was there with you both.

But it is really quite reassuring to hear we are still on the right track here in Damien's eyes and for him to spontaneously mention the forum. We're always clear we are not endorsed or official in any way and the forum is here for Damien's fans... but it means ever so much to me personally that what has become my day job Damien is 'thrilled' by. I'm a happy webmistress! and I hope it gives all forumers a boost too!

Lol, it's interesting how Damien immediately mentioned the forum - almost as if I was going to ask for some feedback if we had spoken! which of course i would never do, last time we spoke on the phone i didnt do hardly any talking at all! haha! but he did bring the forum up then too.

I would hate him to feel at all pressured (not that anyone would ever pressure him literally but the act of asking itself) and the thought of him having to keep to his word makes me feel a bit awkward, so we will see next time. I am already happy with this special feedback, so thank you both so much again! grouphug
