Damien talks parenthood, No Man's Land, 'Tis Pity She's A Whore', Drama Centre London, becoming an actor from Ireland, The Body Of An American, Suspects, Being Human, Crashing, King Lear and more!
Me too Rosie! Just me or does the super top secrecy sound like maybe these / one of these projects are gonna be big? Can't wait to find out! I always think of shows like Doctor Who when stuff is totally locked down...
Loved that, nice to hear him talking about his family.
I notice he said Suspects "was" so I'm taking it that there won't be another series (cue crying).
Fingers crossed for future work - it does sound exciting that he can't talk about it!
Thank you so much for this, domino.
It's a treat isn't it Ellie, very natural, relaxed, and long! I was very happy to see it pop up in google search
Yes... it does seem like a goodbye to Suspects.
But..cannot wait to find out what is coming up next for Damien!
Oh my gosh, that was A TREAT! I was laughing my ass off almost the entire 31 minutes. Some of those stories are gold!
It really was great hearing all his stories. Definitely a bit sad about Suspects being referred to in the past tense, but GIDDY to find out about all the things in the pipeline! We’ve had quite a long DaMo void.

Just listened to this at last! I love how down to earth Damien is. Some of his stories are hilarious. I adore that Damien was channeling the Sheriff of Nottingham to play Hal (I never get tired of Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves). I'm never going to watch Albert Flight's milk guzzling scene in the same way again!
Glad you managed to listen Rosie. The reference to Alan Rickman was awesome! Priceless! And also quite thought provoking - I can totally see it and I'm never going to look at Hal's drama and uptightness in the same way again!
Please someone make a Damien/Hal / Alan Rickman/Sheriff of Nottingham mashup video!
Haha, that scene in Ripper Street! 30 pints of milk, when you hate milk, that is commitment to a role! Let's hope he loves lemonade...
After a second listen and taking in a bit more, however heart wrenching it is to say good bye to Jack Weston, it was so cool to hear a little about the filming and the laughter on set.
Domino, do you know who it was interviewing Damo in this podcast? They seemed to know each other which I'm sure was why Damien seemed so relaxed and open.
I also managed to hear the interview. how wonderful. I so like to listen to him. And it was a new view on projects, although you knew all the projects. The story of the Sheriff of Nottingham is awesome. And, in fact, I can see a little similarity. And maybe I imagine that you can see that he did not like the milk.
And thank you very much for pointing out that the 4 small interviews are videos. I did not actually see that.
You're welcome Sana, glad you could view them from your country too. I Agreed, I can also see Alan Rickman's Sheriff in Hal, but hadn't thought of it before Damien mentioned it. How wonderful to still be learning things about Hal and Being Human! Yes, we now know that banana custard would not be the thing to serve Damien at a dinner party!
Enjoy Rosie! It's awesome to see Damien's face on the screen in 2018! And I think this is his first interview since 2016?
I know this is old news....but I just love, love love this podcast! He really does sound so very relaxed - like he's chatting with a friend - and there are so many great little nuggets. The Sheriff of Nottingham/Hal thing is so obvious now he's said it.....and yes, domino! I'll have to remember not to give Damien banana custard if he ever comes for dinner
A particularly special treat when interviews have been so thin on the ground of late!
If Damien came to mine for his tea (northerner) he'd get scouse and for afters black forest gateau.

Ooh, Black Forest Gateau - how seventies 😁 Don't forget to start with prawn cocktail and have Steak Diane for the main course. Still one of my favourite menus! That, and cheese fondue!
Mmmmmm prawn Cocktail. Not sure about Steak diane or cheese fondue.
Maybe I'd take him to a Berni Inn (if it still exsisted).
