So I thought I would start up a general music thread!

 

am a total Beatles head, and today I have been listening to Abbey Road, which may be my fav album of theirs, along with The White Album, Let It Be (because it has my fave song 'Across The Universe'(I am possibly an old hippy)) ..actually possibly all albums after Rubber Soul..hang on...all of their albums. actually.

Very much into The Black Keys at the moment. My husband got me into their latest album 'El Camino' and it is very addictive and just cool. Their back catalogue while not as commercial, is equally as good.

I like them too Ruby, bet they would be awesome to see live, bit of a Hendrix feel, such a cool guitar based vibe. Doesn't hurt that Dan Auerbach looks a little tiny bit like Ryan Gosling in The Notebook, maybe wishful thinking on my part, lol.

they were great on Live Lounge earlier this year

I am into all sorts of music. Love going to concerts. I am listening to Bruce Springsteen at the moment. Never seen him live but one day hopefully i will.

If your an old hippy Domino, I am an old rocker! You would most likely find me listening to AC/DC, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath. But today I was listening to Queen, after seeing Brian May on American Idol. :D

I've been listening to some songs that I'm thinking of putting on a Being Human playlist.  These two in particular make me think of Hal hiding from his past (the first one), and Hal and Cutler's friendship (the second):

I mostly listen to rock music, mostly alternative/indie. Some pop songs. My fav bands are too many to count. LOL But one of them is Snow Patrol, The Subways, HIM, 30 Seconds to Mars, Bloc Party, Muse, Kaiser Chiefs, etc. So fast is always good. Not so much a fan of the ballads (big exception: Chasing Cars). LOL I need music to which I can swing my hips. wink

I listen to predominantly rock music. I like old school stuff like Aerosmith and Van Halen and i like newer stuff such as The Black Keys, Seether, Marina and The Diamonds, Florence & The Machine, Muse and other stuff. I used to like Snow Patrol, actually i still kind of do but i can't listen to 'Chasing Cars' as it reminds me of when my son left his middle school to start high school and he helped make a video of his moments at middle school (he has autism so he attends a Special Needs unit attached to a mainstream school), there were pictures and videos of all of his achievements and that was the music he chose to accompany it. He loved middle school and he loves high school but when that song comes on the radio now i have to switch it off even though the song has happy connotations to it.

My fave genres are indie, alternative rock and classic rock. I don't have many bands where I listen to a lot of songs from, I'm more of a loose songs person xD But my favorite band is Muse, I like almost all their songs
Lately I'm listening a lot to the Vaccines' album :)

 My favorite is Origin of Symmetry, I like their more heavy stuff But the Resistance is good too, with exeption of Guiding Light :p Undisclosed Desires is one of my favorite songs by them though. 

I don't really like the olympic song :p I'm still looking forward to the new album though

All their albums are pretty good, I know some people do not enjoy their later stuff but I like how their sound has evolved, they still have their own unique sound.

True, but I'm not sure if I'll still like how they evolve when the whole next album sounds like Survival :p It probably won't though, but I do have a feeling it is going to be my least favorite album :( but I don't know...

@areyousomehowdrunk: Same here. I love Muse but I'm really not a big fan of the Olympia song.

Some of my favorite songs include Bliss along with Uprising, Butterflies and Hurricanes and Endlessly.
But in truth there are so many great songs it is hard to pick favorites.

Yes, in my case it was my brother who introduced me. I was in a very bad mood at the time and he played the song to cheer me up :)

Bliss, something so euphoric about that song and Uprising is one of those songs you can't get out of you head! Has anyone seen Muse live? I bet they are an incredible stadium band! Been listening to Danger Mouse and Sparklehorse today

Talking about Music :p dont get me started on this D:
Depending on my mood depends on what i listen to
I like heavy ish metal bands like
Falling in reverse , Skillet , Asking Alexandria , paramore. SO on so on
But i also like soft stuff like
Frank Sinatra , lilly allen , katy perry , lady gaga.
But at the same time i love rap music!
Eminem , lil wayne , 50 cent so on so on :\
And some times i like
Hollywood undead , Olly murs , Adele , Aqua , BassHunter , Ben ****s , Blur , Cold Play , Auburn , Athlete ,
Bruno Mars , Evanescence , Daft Punk , Kasabian , NickBack and pink!

My music tast changes a lot ... i could have a hole day of listning to hard core heavy metal or as my mum puts it "Devil music" And have a week or month of katy perry , lilly allen , eminem and lady gaga :p X

Muse's new album has leaked, yesssss! I can't really say how much I like it yet because I haven't heard the songs often enough yet but I'm so exited! ooohbabydancing I'm back to full fangirl mode lol!

I keep reading mixed reports on it too Lau...let us know what you think!

In the meantime I really love this song at the moment..the anthemic chorus gets me!....but I am really not so sure on the lyrical content...

I listened to the Muse album via streaming the other evening and I was very much 'meh' about it. It starts really strongly but then kind of peters away a bit for me. I'm have my iPod on shuffle most days but I do still love The Black Keys and will be seeing them live in December with my husband.
