I loved Jekyll and Hyde and was gutted it was cancelled.

My Sky+ is ticking over nicely. I'm watching s2 of The West Wing on Sky Atlantic and also s1 of Blue Bloods which has charm.

Didn't like Supergirl and dumped it after 3 episodes. I've watched the first episode of War and Peace and it's okay so far but enjoying Endeavour being back on ITV.

I have multiple episodes of my old favourites to catch up with (Greys, TVD etc) and I'm watching Code Black and Blindspot which are interesting but not absolutely must-see for me.

I signed up for Netflix on saturday and by last night had watched all of Jessica Jones. It's my new TV obsession. I'm not into superhero stuff or the Marvel world in any way but this is magnificient. All the use of their powers is subtle, the story is intense and the threads are beautifully interwoven.

In it's very unique way it also has a strong narrative on the nature of abusive relationships.

I can't recommend enough.

Hes_A_Bloke, I also don't like superhero stuff and I like the new Marvel TV shows too (not crazy about the movies).  I think it's because they aren't really super heroes.  They are superhuman but not superheroes.  The characters are all a bit flawed.  And they are written in such a way that you don't need to know much about the Marvel Universe to understand them.

Anyone see Derren Brown: Pushed To The Edge? I'm still feeling quite overwhelmed by it. An important experiment I think, an update on the Milgram Experiments of the 1960s (which of course we discussed when DaMo was in The Hard Problem) to show the human propensity to obedience.. important to bring awareness to the mainstream...but nevertheless.. hideous in so many ways! Can''t help but worry for the participants who will be in therapy for life now one would imagine....

I find Derren Brown things very uncomfortable to watch. I'd hate someone to mess with my mind like that.

Anyone going to be watching Ripper Street tomorrow? I'm really excited about it. There's always a tiny bit of me that hopes Flight might turn up!

Yes, I'll be watching Ripper Street, I love it. I keep hoping for at least a reference to Flight, he was one of those characters whose follow-up story I just wanted to know.
I'm enjoying Jericho at the moment, perhaps because it's northern! Also glad Gotham is back, although I have to watch it on +1 as I'm watching Crashing at the time it would normally be on.
I'm really enjoying Dickensian, as well, although I do wish the timings would settle down.

Anyone else seen Ripper Street yet? It seems so much more modern and lots of new characters. If we thought Flight was a bit flash and cocky when he arrived then you've seen nothing until you've seen Detective Thatcher!

The reason I liked Daredevil so much is because of Charlie Cox! I thought he was magnificent as Matt Murdock/Daredevil.

I cancelled my Amazon Prime account as they charged me £80 for the second time with no warning! so will wait until it's on the beeb again. If it is.

On the strength of Jessica Jones I'm watching Daredevil, three episodes in and much less convinced. Maybe too "macho" for my liking but mostly because the plot is plodding and not gripping me yet. It's fine but like a book, if the opening doesn't grab you then...

I've just finished watching Into the Badlands on Amazon Prime, did it in 2 sittings and am really looking forward to the second season, whenever that happens. I've persuaded my daughter to watch it too! The acting is good the the fight scenes really well choreographed. For those, like RandomJane, who have watched it - I'm a huge fan of The Widow, and perk up like mad whenever she is on. I never really thought I'd like a martial arts type of thing, but it is both serious and funny. Well worth watching, if you haven't already seen it. Incidentally I think Damien would have made a far better Ryder than the one they have.

I've just started watching Jessica Jones (courtesy of above daughter giving me Netflix details) and I'm thoroughly enjoying it. It reminds me of Sin City, one of my favourite films. Krysten Ritter is an excellent actress, too.

Gotham - I just loved Jerome so was gutted by the latest episode. Only the Penguin being in more will help alleviate the pain!

Boewulf:Into the Shieldlands - a bit like the Last Kingdom, find I'm laughing at the costumes and the varied Northern accents.

Crashing continues to delight.

Dickensian - loving it but still wish they'd settle down with the timings. It can't be that hard, surely?

My Amazon Prime is £5.99 a month because I don't use the delivery option or anything other than the TV shows part.

The free music is pretty good, too, Pearl. I know you can't put it on CD but I've a couple of thousand tunes on the cloud. I order a lot from Amazon  so use Prime a lot and whenever I order a CD try to get one that also has autorip! What can I say other than I like value for money,

I'm glad you enjoyed Into the Badlands, Ellie. I'm not a martial arts fan and expected to hate it, but we also flew through it in one weekend. The choreography is fantastic and the whole show is just so beautifully done.  I was very pleased.

I'm also a fan of The Widow.  How could you not be? How does she do anything in those heels let alone fight?   smile

We are watching The Fall now. We blew through that too.  We only have two more episodes to watch.

I'm looking forward to watching the new X-Files this Friday too.  It came on Sunday I think but we only have time to watch TV on Fridays so we catch up on everything then.  Crashing too so I'm always almost a week behind.

I rarely listen to music and I don't buy much from Amazon, apart from my Kindle books.  It is good for that.

I finally signed up to Netflix last week (finally persuaded OH it was a good idea, but rather than him paying for it, i am) and i roared through Daredevil and absolutely flipping loved it. I knew that i would. My sister had seen it and told me that i would (she's usually a good judge of what i will and won't like).

Charlie Cox is brilliant as Matt but i was wowed by Vincent D'Onofrio as Fisk. Now i've been a big fan of his for over ten years now, he absolutely fascinates me (one of my all time favourite tv characters is Detective Robert Goren in Law and Order CI) and i loved how his character was written, how he became who he was. How isolated and paranoid and truly terrifying he was. His rages were epic and yet childish and his feelings for Vanessa, that longing... just fantastic stuff.

The whole series is so wonderfully written, how the characters are portrayed, not a superheroes as someone has said (about JJ) but as superhumans. I think that fits Matt well too. Episode 10 blew me away especially. I'm awaiting season two with bated breath.

I'm two episodes into Jessica Jones (just haven't had time this week to watch more) and I am enjoying it. It hasn't hooked me right in yet but i know it will in time. Again, love how well it's written and how the characters intrigue me.

People are talking about The Making of a Murderer' and i have to admit, i'm not in the least bit curious about it, given how much media exposure it's had over recent weeks, i feel i know all that i need to know about it without watching it.

Glad you enjoyed Daredevil, Ruby. Charlie's American accent is, I imagine, quite acceptable to a US audience. What did you think of the corridor scene? One six minute take apparently!

Was it really? I know it was a single camera scene but I hadn't realised they did it in one take. I loved it, I loved the rawness of it, there was no superhuman martial arts, he was below par and he still kicked their backsides, the exhaustion was permeable through the screen. And for some reason it really tickled me that towards the end of the scene before he rescues the boy, he trips over one of the bad guys. Don't know why it does but it does. Also have to mention that I LOVE Foggy.

Was anyone watching War and Peace? I really enjoyed it and now I don't need to read the book!

I think the new series of Ripper Street is fantastic. Lots of old characters have been brought back so I'm always hopeful that Flight will make an appearance!

Just watched the last episode of series 4 of Ripper Street and all I could do was yell "No! No! No!" at the TV screen. I'll not give away any spoilers for those who haven't seen it, but I can hardly wait for the next series.

Anyone else looking forward to The Aliens with Michael Socha on E4 next week?

I'm still not sure what to make of the last episode of Ripper Street series 4. I can't believe that what happened has really happened! It can't be true!

This season of Ripper Street was pretty good.  I have heard they have been renewed for at least two more seasons.

I haven't watched Ripper Street series 4 yet, apart from about a quarter of the first episode. I see Matthew Lewis is playing the desk sargeant now. He played Neville Longbottom in Harry Potter when he was young and is also in Happy Valley as Sean. He is doing well and looking good (usually).

Anyone been watching The Night Manager? It's really gripping with a great cast.
