Well done Ciara! Sorry I should maybe have given instructions on how to play the clip! For those who have not yet worked it out, basically you click on the attachment and it will automatically download to your computer. then click on the download and it should auto play on windows media player or whatever media player you have on your device!

Lol yes, for someone who initially resisted much, Hal found true happiness in the Café on the Corner !

Telesales operator.

But then, if that doesn't cause a backslide, then I don't know what will.

Lol, it would definitely test Hal's patience - and effect his teeth. first gritting... then polishing. fangs

How about a job that involves lots of necks...like hairdressing. Well, he did have 50 odd years to learn that trade from Leo!!

I like the idea of a hairdresser. As we saw in the Cafe, he has developed his customer services skills and who wouldn't be swayed by that voice and those looks.

Once customers get used to having their hair styled in a salon with no mirrors, their tempermental hair artist will pick up an international reputation for the gimmick. Come to Hal's for great hair, but say no to the vanity.

And when Hal Vidal is just too busy, customers will be given the opportunity to have the new girl do their hair. Don't try to engage her in conversation, don't try to look at her. She's happy to stand right behind you and silently take a pair of scissors to your head.

And as you hand over the exorbitant sum of money to that nice young man on reception, he'll be sure to tell you of course you don't need a mirror, that you look lovely. He'll always hold the door open for you.

Actually quite relieved to hear that it wasn't a production decision to move from the cafe...i thought it was such an ideal location that I was a bit surprised they'd ditched it.  Love the idea of Hal's Hairdressers, but he'd be such a perfectionist that even if he managed to resist those necks it'd take him hours.  And I can't quite see Tom washing hair!

Says on the blog that they've got sea views, so......lifeguard, maybe!

Great visual UJ, I am thinking.... "Lord Harry the Vampire Barber of Barry Island"
A barber..yes much more opportunity for neck temptation and B-L-O-O-D blood

oh fifi, Lifeguard is simply inspired..as long as there are pressups on the beach..

...and HalGal, are you thinking what I'm thinking..topless slow-mo running?! blushing

Hmm.. there was also a mention of a fairground, so this must be it, Hal the fortune teller, I can see it now....

(by the way, in case of confusion, we don't really want to know what his new job is right? this is just fun speculation not spoilers!)

My swimming skills are really not great...so I'd be bound to need some mouth to mouth resuscitation!

HalGal....are we talking tuxedo here?

I'm sure he could fit in two jobs.  A bit of topless slow mo in the beach during the day.......tuxedoed croupier by night.....

I think his new job should be Personal Trainer.  No shirt required.  With Lute lessons on the side.  biggrin

Though embroidery is much more up my alley, I'd hate for him to have to suffer throught the inevitable needle pokes.  Let's not push reform too much....

Oof... HalGal and fifi, between you I am finished.... torso and tux thud here we come thud so we are talking beach by day casino by night..maybe on the pier...does Barry have a pier? and maybe some private tuition the side as suggested by whimsy! I could see him doing some kind of intricate needlepoint!

The casino idea has all kinds of potential on the addiction front....

Dog walker.

Yeah, not especially sexy, I know. And tripping over leads and being pulled around by dogs hardly reaches the giddy heights of high brow comedy. It's just that I can see Tom really bonding with the dogs. He'd so be their Alpha, while the dogs go completely beserk around Hal and clearly hate him. Don't know how he'll survive in the job really. It'll certainly be curtains if he has a bad day and accidentally eats them. The job search will have to continue.

well you know the perfect job for Hal is librarian. It's usually quiet, everyone is usually polite, he gets to keep things tidy, surrounded by lovely books, and with his perfect recall he can point people in the right direction with minimal annoyace. problem is that's safe and can't see Tom there. that's no fun!

they do have a couple previous jobs in common - trash men & grave digging. I can see loads of fun with either of those. trying to one-up each other with stories of their past stints in same occupation (which could lead to flashbacks), I can see them finding all sorts of quirky things in the trash they collect and having funny interractions with people on their route. finding the next vampire plot by happenstance in the graveyard or body in trash and go all CSI on it. and my personal favorite, an endless supply of snide remarks from Hal on the conditions he's forced to endure.

Librarian is perfect, whimsy. And Buffy hung out in one loads, so there's precedent.

What lovely motivation!!!! smile

One thing I love about Hal's singing (besides the fact that he claims he doesn't sing, and that he does sing when he's in a happy mood) was the choice to have Damien sing falsetto whenever he is good, but when he is bad, his true voice comes out closer to baritone, mirroring his deeper, darker self.  Am I right in remembering someone saying Damien was the one that suggested singing falsetto, or am I making that up?

I recall something about Damien's falsetto.. something like it was a brilliant surprise maybe to Toby W.. whcih suggests it was Damien's decision! Good point about the different tone for the different aspects of Hal. There is something gleeful about both tones...
