I have absolutely no writing skills but look forward to reading what what everyone comes up with!

But from your comments I have noticed you have a wealth of reading experience whimsyfox, which lends itself pefectly to unleashing the imagination!
I hope peeps don't take this to seriously, any little ditties will do!or we could do it as a joint effort?
It did strike me though that this would be the classic 'A Christmas Carol' reversed... in Dickens' famous version, Scrooge was shown the error of his miserly ways by the ghostly visitors he has during the night of the eve. But for Hal, the succubus is there to tempt him into evil....perhaps to show him what he had and what he is missing?! this really could be an untraditional Christmas tale!
yup reader, not writer. plus to be honest some of the stuff on BH is over my head due to cultural differences. though multiple viewings and google searches and has helped fill in the blanks.
but I will think on ideas.

for instance when he said Marigolds I wasn't even sure that's the word he said but figured out fast enough he was talking about the gloves. when he says "missing You and Yours" I was like, huh, that's a random string of words. Didn't know that's a Radio program till I started reading things online. in the "the Lute is the coolest of all medieval string instruments" outtake with Adam, I had no idea who Daley Thompson is. (btw, love how he delivered that line) I have no point of reference for most of the locations mentioned. and the accents of course. it sometimes takes my brain a few seconds to figure out what was said. lol kinda like knowing another language, but not fluently, so you're always somewhat translating in the back of your head. silly American! lol

Oh by the way, I was way too excited about the pics floating around yesterday and was up late writing ----> Christmas. Hal. Fic. Nothing special, but I had a blast! The hubby was like, what are you doing, trying to peek over my elbow as I clutched my iPad circumspectly on my lap and pecked away giggling while I was supposed to be watching TV with him. I just told him I was chatting with friends. He isn't aware of my latest obsession and I like to keep it that way cuz he's way too teasing.

TJ, isn't it funny how it's English, but I swear sometimes it's a different language. if it weren't for google I'd still be like
I've picked up a few words I say all the time that are used over there but not over here, like "brilliant" (thank you Harry Potter) and "lovely", but watching S4 has opened up a whole realm of possibilities! I want to use some Hal-isms to confuse people.

Whimsyfox, I'm from America also and have had the same cultural references to deal with. I love the term 'marigolds' for kitchen gloves! In Series 1 George referenced a 'polo' as something that smelled minty. I had to look that up to learn that is a candy like our Lifesavers! Tom's accent still bamfoozles me sometimes, but I don't think I'm the only one! Maybe we should have a Cultural References and Translations topic.

So, our story should start with Hal refusing to join his friends for a Christmas Eve celebration and 'bah humbugging' his way to his room for some press-ups and a shower. Unless someone has a better idea.

I did write something last night and it starts that way, minus the shower. that's just the very beginning. what I wrote is silly, probably not very imaginative, but it was fun. but oops I just read below it was the succubus of past, present, future. Is it ok to deviate and keep them as ghosts?
