Twitter has gone absolutely bonkers tonight after that clip aired. And with very good reason.
Can't think of a coherent thought except to ask whether it is February 3rd yet and doesn't the chemistry sizzle between those two? I think there is more to that scene than what was actually shown, it's a pity i have to wait seven days to find out. Patience is not a virtue of mine!
is this Lord Hal's house? or just his bedchamber in someone elses?
Who is Lady Catherine?
And what is the history of these two? (rhetorical questions - not something I necessarily want answers to, until we see it for ourselves on Sunday)
doesn't Lord Hal look young! a mere 4 hundred and something!
"Got a message for me?" (is this what he says?) edit: "You got my message then" (thanks fifi!) "the werewolf army would never let their leader embark on a solo assassination"
"it's precisely that dreary compassion for staff that would have lost you this war anyway" "we need to parlay" or is it parlez? we are in france! very different meaning to both but knowing Lords Hals' proclivity for betting, it really could be either!
"the civil war between our clans has been raging for seven years, in fact it's what I believe triggered the war in the human world.."
"obviously there's nothing, we enjoy more, than a good rough and tumble..."
"...but we have reason to believe we are being manipulated. Someone else, something else, is fanning the flames of this conflict"
"Lady Catherine we are not at war with each other, we're at war with the devil."
bravo domino, thinking beyond the obvious. my reaction involves copious amounts of drool & thuddage. I think it took 3 hours before I stopped hyperventalating! I swear I was well behaved before meeting Hal!
Ruby, I do believe you might be right.

Opened up this page and realised that the clip was running twice!!
I wish I could answer all your questions, domino! Or maybe I don't.....I'd rather wait and see what unravels. Rational thought is just retreating further and further into the distance. Today was supposed to be a day of busy productivity.......so far it's not going well!!!
I think its 'you got my message then'
The thought never, ever occurred to me that lady catherine would be a werewolf when I saw pics of her. I do like surprises!
This feels like a clip from a series in it's own right. It's kinda hard to believe that this is part of a flashback which is part of an ep of being human.
Have to admit it's not what I was expecting from a flashback, but I'm really, really not complaining. I hope we get to see more of this hal!
That’ll be that uniform then. So 1918 – WW1 era. What was he? Is Hal a soldier-on-repeat? Does he get involved with any battle he possibly can? Does he enjoy the fight? Got to love those abs though. Wasn’t what I was expecting from a flashback either. He looks so confident doesn’t he? Opens his eyes and simply does not fear for his life for one second. Love that.
Urgh I think I'm literally addicted to this clip! I have been watching it since I opened my eyes this morning!
I reckon it might be the vampires headquarters or something...
I am struggling with the Catherine thing. If it is Catherine that Kirby was talking about then Kirby must have been lying about him eating her heart since she is a werewolf and werewolf blood s toxic to vampires. But then why would they use the same name again? Hmmm something is afoot ;)

Well the werewolf toxic blood thing did sort of contradict itself. But yeah, why use the same name twice? The dates more or less add up as well. 100 years. Maybe he knew two Catherines in the early 1900s, always a possibility. But a tad confusing.
A "parlay" is when two warring sides get together and talk. It is from the French "parlez", to talk. I'm pretty sure it's a war connotation.
I still think there is more to these two than meets the eye, just before Hal steps away from Catherine, she smiles almost affectionately at him. It's possible that this may be the Catherine that Kirby alluded to, but as the clip via the blog calls Lady Catherine the leader of the werewolves, this must make her a werewolf also and therefore her blood would be toxic to Hal. Unless he wore gloves to tear her heart out, he wouldn't have eaten it. We'll see. Plus Catherine was and still is a very popular name.
I would assume that the house Hal was staying in was commandeered for 'war effort'. It wasn't uncommon for this to happen, usually for a platoon of troops to live in and operate from or as a war hospital to treat casualties. It would make sense for that to be Hal's house in that respect ( and can i say, red army pants? *swoon*) and those abs! Okay...fangirling over for now.
So, Lord Hal. Confident, arrogant, wonderful. So different to the awkward, socially insecure Hal we've come to know and love. Can imagine him dancing a rather sinister tango. Brilliant stuff.
