They're a country group... an all girl trio. Miranda Lambert is in it. I dunno if you've heard of her. She's pretty huge over here in country music & is married to Blake Shelton (another big country star).

My grandson is at the Emirates Stadium as I type at the Muse concert. He has gone with his two band mates and are staying in a Travelodge somewhere in London! His name is Tom Silk and he is the drummer in a band called Naked Fridays! They have just (yesterday) finished their music course and, with luck, they are going on to Chichester University for a degree course. Luckily the music department of the Uni is based in Newport, Isle of Wight. So he can stay at home and just catch the bus!
I had the pleasure of catching this concert last night. The venue we went to had better sound than is on this video. We were front and center (no one in front of us) and I'm the moron that forgot to bring my camera. Duh! The show was excellent.

Tom, my grandson, and his band mates are playing at the Isle of Wight Festival next weekend! They have two spots, Thursday evening (for those camping) and they are headlining on Saturday evening - both on the Bandstand. They are so chuffed!
How did your Grandson's band get on at the IoW Festival, Pearl? Hope they got a good crowd.
Last night was my first of two trips to Wembley Stadium this week; this one was The Killers, who were brilliant. The stage itself wasn't too exciting, but they made great use of lights and pyros...they had even written a song especially for the night about being at Wembley! There are others on YouTube with better sound, but this includes the screens which explain why there was so much noise at certain points...

My grandson's band went down a storm at the festival. They had a huge crowd on the Thursday because it was only for those camping and only two stages were open. They really enjoyed it. They had a smaller crowd on Saturday but those there were very appreciative.
The man who runs Platform One (the music college) said in the local paper that "Naked Fridays were a different band from that last year when they opened the show, they have come on so much!" He only picked out them for a comment which was lovely for the lads.
Here is a photo my daughter took, with the caption "Fully clothed Thursdays"! My grandson, Tom, is second on the left. They are Chris, Tom, Reuben and Mikey

I hope, for your sake, they're better than when I saw them in, I think, 2000. I can honestly rank it in the Top 5 worst gigs I've been to...and I've seen some real rubbish!
You're not sad. I've seen a lot of boybands and other pop combos in my time - Boyzone (who I'm off to see in December, although it's not the same without my boy Stephen ), Westlife, BSB, Blue, Take That, Steps, Liberty X, S Club... - so have no right to call anyone else sad! I just thought they had zero charisma when I saw them and wouldn't interact with the audience, which is what a boyband gig should be all about (and I had a second row ticket so it wasn't a being at the back thing).
Lets face it, none of us are there just to hear them sing; it's about them being all suggestive and wiggling their arses and corpsing when things go wrong. It's about being in their 'gang'!
When I go to see Joe McElderry in three weeks it is to hear him sing! And that goes for most of the audience. He is in a different genre to boy bands I suppose.
He probably is, Pearl. I would have thought he's doing more of a traditional show rather than a spectacle, and will have a more mature audience.
What annoys me most, though, is drunk people who seemingly can pay £30+ for a ticket, then spend the whole time drinking and chatting and not paying any attention to what's going on on the stage! I mean, why bother?
I agree. I went to a Will Young concert in Brighton once and some people had an almighty row during the concert. It didn't go down very well with those around them. However, mostly people seem to behave quite well in a seated concert - it is the outdoor ones where they think they can do anything. One reason why I don't bother any more.
Literally just got in from seeing Robbie Williams at Wembley Stadium.
Have mixed feelings about it. The set was great and he had loads of different heads (the current album cover is a picture of his head in relief) that did different things, but he's just so blinking self-indulgent and it gets in the way of the music. When he just sings, he's amazing, but he just prats about too much for my liking...so much so that I actually preferred The Killers last week (and they were £30 cheaper as well!)
Olly Murs was the support act and he was very good actually...may try and get a ticket for his next tour!
I'm thinking I might go see The Psychedelic Furs next week. They've been through here several times but for some stupid reason I've never caught them. I can't see any reason not to do it next week. I'll post video if I manage to go and take some.

I just got back from the Psychedelic Furs show. I am so disappointed. They were really good but they didn't play Sister Europe, the only song I really had to hear. I stood on a very hard floor for three hours on a bad foot to not hear the song I wanted them to play. They always play that. Boooooooooo! I really hate when that happens.
So here it is. Apparently the only way I'm ever going to hear it.

Noooo Jane! I hate it when that happens as well; it's not just the excitement of going to the concert, but also the hope that the band/artist will do your favourite song and it's so disappointing when they don't!
Much excitement! Joe McElderry is doing a 50 date tour next year and about 40 were announced last evening. One of the dates is on the Island at Shanklin Theatre. I was the first to book!
@--Knightley i love Josh i've never been able to see him perform live (finances are always tight)! Did he sing "Oceano" & "Alla luce del sole" ? maybe in the future if he tours Canada again!
As some people may have seen on my Twitter feed, my husband and I went to see Billy Joel last night at the Hammersmith Apollo.
I knew he'd probably be good, but it actually blew me away at times. His skill on the piano is a sight to see and he had the most amazing band with him - the brass section in particular were mind-blowing. The ticket price was hefty - £85 plus booking fees and things - but it was so very worth it.
Next up are my Wet Wet Wet gigs which are spread over a week in December. Can't wait for them, as much because I get to see all my friends around the country in addition to seeing the band. And Blue are the support act which will be fun as well.
My sister and I are going to see Joe McElderry again but this time he is playing Shanklin Theatre on the Isle of Wight as part of his 60+ tour! Apparently he is superb - which goes without saying! This is on 16 May.
We are also going to see Vincent Simone and Flavia Caccace in their dance show "Dance Til Dawn".
