This will be my only post in this forum. I absolutely loathe tennis! I had a horrible PE teacher at school and she expected me to be able to play all these stupid games (tennis, hockey, cricket and rounders) just because I was a good runner! Put me off for life! It really annoys me the way the BBC put matches on both channels and the red button!
I haven't had time to watch but tennis is the only sport that I enjoy watching. I use to keep up with it but can't seem to find the time in the last few years.

I'm watching as much as I can. I've missed some big games. Caught Rafa going out, but missed Roger's defeat, which is just as well as it may have been too upsetting! Caught the last set yesterday with Serena bowing out. It's a shame to see the greats go. I was looking forward to watching them, especially Roger since he's a joy to watch, but it makes it more exciting when everything isn't such a foregone conclusion.

Rafa and Roger going out was a complete shock, but I was more gutted about Tsonga having to retire, think he's brilliant and so funny as well. It has made it (potentially) a lot easier for Andy as he was drawn such that he'd have had to play two of those three to make the final. Now, he's just got to stay strong, then nail Djokovic on Sunday, lol!
I think the last time I watched Wimbledon was probably to watch Ilie Nastase! Once he stopped playing I kind of lost interest - I was obviously very shallow as a child too.....!
I took a liking to Del Potro last year. The little I saw of him during the Olympics, he looked so happy.
As for today, I'm torn. I like both Lisicki and Bartoli, but I think I'm edging towards Bartoli. I like how, while waiting for her opponent to serve, she'll squeeze a quick jog into those few seconds and get some practice back hands in.

I could only dip in and out of the first match (and, thankfully, missed the first set of the Murray one!) but what I saw was brilliant. If only all matches were as interesting as that one...
I'll have my Pimms ready for Sunday definitely - shame we can't move the TV to the garden!
That is a good and fair idea, plus I could just watch it on the BBC website of course, but I have a 38" TV and I think we'll be watching in 3D as well, so indoors is the only option.
(Plus, knowing me, I'll only be able to hack about 10 minutes outside before I either melt or turn into a lobster, lol!)
And YAYYYYYYYYYYYY! go Murray!! I literally screamed for a good minute when he won....what a final game, it kept going to deuce and Djokovic kept on in there! So amazed by these athletes, their skill and endurance, playing in that heat, always inspired to see the human body at it's peak potential . 3 straight sets, Murray deserved to win it was his time.
It's certainly an experience, although it takes a little getting used to - our type of TV uses the shutter type of glasses rather than the general polarising ones that you get at the cinema. It gives you a different view as well because only certain sets of cameras have the second 3D lenses so it's all court side rather than overhead; good for staring at the players' arses as well as the play, lol!
The game itself was excellent. Even though it was only three sets, it felt like an epic struggle; so many long and amazing rallies and the momentum kept shifting between Andy and Novak which made it all the more exciting.
