Weekends generally are better. There's an expectation of ratings of 5m+ on Saturdays and Sundays - used to be a lot higher, but with the multi-channel world it's very hard to get the mega-ratings like they used to.
Also, with +1 channels and iPlayer, etc, the real ratings for a programme are not necessarily known for over a week.
I think the expectation for RS on a Monday would be around the 4m mark. If they get round there, the Beeb'll be happy.
Will be able to set mine tonight, i can't set it more than a week before air date so i'll be sure to set it before i got to bed tonight.
The last episode of the series should air December 16th all going well. It would be nice if they released it shortly afterwards. I think the earliest could be December 23rd but more than likely it'll be available in the New Year.

Jut checked whimsy (the link is in the first topic) no T-shirt size given, but I must admit it is not the first thing that crossed my mind, I'd frame it not wear it! Plus the fundraiser is for 2 good causes Perhaps you could ask on Twitter?
No official word, but are BBC America postponing Ripper Street 2? their earlier press release stated a 1 December debut, but their Ripper Street page on the press site now gives 'winter 2014' ?
Yes that may be the reason fifi or it could be that Mr Moffat has taken over the BBC worldwide!
I am so sad about this and could say many things....but no I shall be gracious about the fact our america friends have to wait even longer and say to the schedulers in a Captain Jackson voice:

Typical! I really got the feeling BBC One shoehorned RS in in order to transmit it before BBC America and now it could have gone somewhere more useful! Booooo....
I think this may be posted elsewhere on the forum? But in this podcast the writer of Ripper Street explains that S1 was intended to be broadcast in the Autumn, in a midweek slot....but the BBC pushed it back because they found a convenient gap for it on Sundays after Christmas. That's why this series had such a quick turnaround....so they could broadcast it when originally intended.
I went through the guide on the tv to set the DVR for Ripper Street to premiere this weekend on BBCA and it wasn't there. I came here to confirm that I had the correct date in my phone (Yes, I set myself a reminder lol), and saw all of this about it getting pushed back. Ugh. I haven't been watching (with the exception of Damien's first ep) cuz I figured I'd just wait... I didn't know I'd have to wait so long!

I hate that anything that's not Doctor Who gets juggled around and pushed to the background and not given it's proper attention. (Just as I am pissed that they stopped doing trailers for RS and of course viewing figures have started to slip....)
Many US fans are waiting for Ripper Street and getting mixed messages from BBCA. At least now they definitively dispelled one date but still so ambiguous on when it will actually air. It's not like BBCA is packed! Half the time they are showing Star Trek re-runs and old movies. Which aren't even British in origin! And when they do air RS they'll be hacking the episodes - wonder what will be cut...
I'm not bitter, no I'm not. So glad I found a way to watch while airing in UK.

I feel for you Knightley..so sorry I was the bringer of sad news. we can't know for sure that it is Doctor WHO related, but yes the BBC is pretty much all about Doctor Who on both sides of the atlantic at the moment with drama not getting much of a look in! I am miffed for you all, especially as not one, but two early BBCA press releases were pretty specific about a 1 December debut.
I am glad you and other US fans found a way to watch it with us too whimsy
BUT.. just think, when Ripper Street does come to you all, there will be lots of new promo pics and things to enjoy!

It's like you are in my Brain whim! As much as I love doctor who and all the 50th stuff. Thats all done now. They have no excuse not to show ripper street.
However, I am liking domno's thinking. There is always a silver lining.

I downloaded the entire series from iplayer....and have just discovered that, while most eps are available until 22 or 23 Jan - eps4 and 7 both expire tonight!! Why?! How does that work?!?
