Ah, yes...Episode 4 is a good one... Damien done vunerable so well... Much more blood in Being Human but seems so different.... skipped onto last two as well... See what folk mean about so many unanswered questions about Flights past.... And the quivvering lip, no matter what he's done still feel he needs a hug....

Can't believe you skipped ahead Kallie! I'm getting the feeling that Ripper Street wasn't really your thing.

Flight totally needs lots of hugs. The big sad eyes and quivering lips gets me every time! Flight's speech about doing good work and outrunning his shame always makes me cry.

I will give another go when bored of rewatching and rewatching series 5 of Being Human.... A friend who knows me said it wasn't my thing, but i bought the boxset anyway.... But I do watch anything that folk I really like have been in... Wish Flight had a bigger part or not so much punching/violence... Guess my default is Hal, because I love watching him.... Loved Travelling Light and The Hard Problem and Suspects and think will like new stuff coming, just gotta crack the program and not the character.... Having said that I do like Flight, think circumstances has made his background the way it is but has a genuine good heart....

I don't think of Flight as being violent or do you mean Ripper Street itself?

Programme in general, not Flight.... No not getting anywhere near watching series 5 too often.... Guess when can quote each episode word for word should have a change, but can't do that yet

I guess Ripper Street is pretty violent. Series 3 is even more violent, there were bits when I had to look away.

I think I must have watched series 2 of Ripper Street too much then by your definition!! I'm giving it a rest at the moment so I can use it as a reward for working hard on my masters.

Friend who told me i wouldn't like it knows i watched a single episode of Whitechapel and never got to the end of that. I watch more than i used too, but at least i'm in control of a DVD and have the lights on..

Rewards are important..

If folk were going to watch an episode then have a chat about it afterwards i would make sure saw whole episode...

Has anyone heard anything about the soundtrack for Ripper Street? There keep being rumours of it being released and then I never hear anything more about it. I love the music in Ripper Street and I am hoping that it will be available soon because I wanted to listen to it while I was writing my dissertation which is about newspaper reporting of murders in the 19th century. I thought the music would be very apt!

YES! and the Drama Channel Ripper Street S2 trailer is now up on their website - even though there is no Damien (!!!!) it is a great trailer.


Which also  means Damien's first appearance as Albert Flight in RS 2.02 is 21 May!

Anyone else stupidlty excited about this? Even though it has already aired on BBC 1 and BBC America and is available on DVD isn't there something deliciously amazing about seeing Damien on the old terrestrial TV screen?!

Needless to say I'm ridiculously excited, domino! I have the DVD s and have watched both series to the point where I can say the script along with them but I will still be watching this again on TV! I can never get enough Albert Flight!

It airs at 10pm Kallie, so chatting directly after the episode may not be possible, but we can definitely do so in the days afterwards.

Sounds good... Thought I'd done most poles but if individual to each episode I haven't... Think the boxing and blood might've put me off before Damien joined... Not a great lover of cruelty and meanness either if truth be told...

Drama Channel have released fab new clips for RS 2, check them out here!

 

And news today that Series 4 and 5 have been announced by Amazon... (probably no Damien / Flight, but great news all the same!)

I have to confess I haven't given Ripper Street much thought.  After learning S3 was jumping 4 yrs I was disappointed/disillusioned because S2 ended in such an intense cliffhanger that it made no sense to me why they wouldn't continue the story from that very moment.  And then all we got in S3 was a paltry mention of Leanne Best.  S3 storyline was disappointing too, I felt the manner of Reid's daughter's return too farfetched, Louise Brealey's chatacter seemed like a slapped in 1D character simply created to bring in a "famous" face (and it bugged me that she had a similar role than she does in Sherlock), and don't get me started on Susan! Everyone behaved so out of character in S3, but Susan was just... ugh... I never did watch the final episode.

As for S2, I have only watched a couple episodes on my BluRays in the past few months.  Most notably Ep 4. wink

Didn't see on tv, bought series 1 and 2 boxset, and only seen series 2.... But at least I saw whole series now and made more sense than starting at series 2... And fast forwarding for Damiens bits...
