I am pretty much addicted to all food programmes (apart from Hell's Kitchen the format PLUS Gordon Ramsay grate on me after a while no pun intended) Anyone else addicted to Masterchef? Thoroughly loving celebrity Masterchef right now.. and not forgetting The Great British Bake Off!
I'm a bit hit and miss on Masterchef. Once I start watching it, I'll get sucked in, but I'm happy to not bother to begin with. I am watching Bake Off though...I don't bake enough.
I do like a bit of Saturday Kitchen and like progs like The Little Paris Kitchen and Simon Hopkinson...
I don't watch them (hate cooking and avoid where possible) but my husband has a soft spot for The Hairy Bikers and i have to admit, i do like watching them (and it doesn't matter if i've just eaten, but watching them cook always makes me hungry!)
I don't get into the cooking shows, but I love the ones like (in the US) Dine-ins, Diners and Dives. Where they go around the country and find the best places to eat. It's always fun when they feature a place in your hometown!

Three people can't have dinner together! That's barbaric!
My family (this includes myself) are such huge foodies (we even have a few chefs in the mix), so we do watch a ton of cooking programs. We are big fans of Masterchef (both the UK and US versions). To be honest, when we can't find anything else to watch on the television we leave one of the cooking networks on. I am tolerant of most shows, but there are some out there that irritate me. Over here in the US we have a show called Cake Boss. It's based out of New Jersey, which is where I live, and ugh. I can't watch more than 10 minutes of it.
I used to watch a lot of them. They really encouraged me to cook and I need to go back to that.
I tend to catch Celebrity Masterchef, or get pulled in when it's repeated. I usually have it on while I'm doing other things and then get distracted. But I'm loving Bake Off and that gets my full attention. The standard's so high it's terrifying.

I guess I became obsessed with foodie progs when I became too ill to cook -- and now i can again I realise how much of a gift it is to create with food!
Also love Nigel Slater, Valentine Warner and Rachel Kooh.
For those of us who are enjoying Celebrity MasterChef (uk) who do you want to win?
I am not sure if I love Janet Street Porter or if she just annoys the hell out of me!
Eek! Masterchef final in 15 mins! no idea who will win! My money is on Janet though - who will stop whinging about presentation eventually! "her inside voice" seems to be drowned out by her stroppy teenager voice UJ! but you have to admire her eccentricity and sheer stubbornness. she has a soft centre though. How did Les Dennis stay in this far?! love him though!
I used to be surprised Francis got to stay at first, since she didn't deliver in taste. If something looks fantastic, straight off the bat, it delivers an expectation. If the taste falls short, it's a big let down. But when Francis does deliver, then it's certainly well deserved. And those presentation skills really came to the fore with the wedding cake, the only one that looked presentable really. If wedding cakes are that hard to do in the time allowed, then give them more time, or pick something else. For the finale show stopper, I've never seen such a poor collection. The show stoppers in episode one were more impressive. (Can't remember what the heck they were. I know I was blown away by the high standard in just the first episode.)
I think Ruby gets a rough deal. She's young. She always delivered on flavour. If something looks unimpressive, but the taste then blows me away, again, poor expectation leads to be a fabulous surprise.
I feel bad for Kimberley. She had a lot of skills and is highly accomplished.

I didn't think I'd care for Extra Slice but I'm enjoying it. Love that the bakers get to prove they can do the task that defeated them.
I'm intrigued by how the Beeb may have stitched up Diane. No suggestion that Iian's ice cream was out for less than a minute in the show itself .... Yet, she just left it there and Iian just happened to ask where it was at that time?
Not sure I have a favourite. Love Norman but has he not watched the show? Perfect cuts it, but not safe, not at this stage. Martha's impressive. Looking forward to tonight.

I cannot stand any "foodie programmes". I loathe cooking but know I have to do it to survive. I would love it if someone would provide me with meals every day. Highly unlikely.
Sorry just looked back in the thread to say I have already said all this - or something similar!
