I always love the Tango/Argentine Tango and a Paso Doble and i really enjoy the Foxtrot and the Quickstep too. Not a fan of the rumba at all. I have adored both times Kevin did a Paso, first with Suzanne last year and this year with Frankie.
I'm a real fan of Trent Whiddon, who came in as a last minute replacement for Robin. He is phenomenal, such amazing choreography and when he and Pixie dance, i can hardly take my eyes off him. I hope that he's back next series along with Tristan, who charmed me in the It Takes Two programmes through the week when they had the 'ask the pro's' section on a Tuesday (have heard they're continuing with it on a Thursday night instead)
Glad Judy has finally been eliminated, she should have gone weeks ago so now i think we have a proper competition.
Finalists? I'm predicting Pixie & Trent, Frankie & Kevin, Caroline & Pasha and perhaps a toss up between Jake & Janette or Simon and Kristina. It's really a close thing this year.
Someone on another forum said that Caroline had an advantage over everyone else because of her 15 years of dance training! I pointed out to her that Caroline had 2 or 3 years of training FIFTEEN years ago!
As with every previous year, although I know our DaMo is wayyy to busy to be in it I always have this background excitement as the contestents are gradually announced that it might be him!
The launch show is September 5th. I have to admit, i'm a little underwhelmed by this year's line up. One or two i haven't heard of but it doesn't mean that I won't watch because of course i will. Looking forward to seeing who will be paired up with who and first impressions.
Daniel has a *massive* fan base so I fear a John Seargant situation happening again if he has two left feet as I fear he may.
First impressions is I think Peter Andre will go far, he seems to have rythmn and at be a rare celebrity that is good at Latin. Pleased that Anton seems to have more of a contender this year. Not a fan of Jamelia in the slightest and new boy Gleb is HOT! ( he reminds me very much of Smallville's Tom Welling)
Wow... there is a lot of talent in this year's Strictly line up, the judges being super tough early on is a reflection of that I feel. It's too tough to call at this stage and unlike previous years I cannot pick favourites ...honestly loving them all!
Delighted Anton has a reasonable chance of getting further in the competition this time, his glee at this fact is hilarious!
The right decision was made on Sunday night.. on to the next round!
what a fabulous (dahhling) *said in Craig voice* show last night!
I agree with you both Rosie and Pearl, loved Jay's jive.. it was brill and they did credit to the Tarantino films..it was very stylish and very cool! I have also watched it over and over!
Originally people thought Peter may emerge as the best male but Jay is way better at this stage.
Also absolutely loved Kellie and Kevin's star wars themes dance, totally pleased the geek in me and they were brilliant too.
I felt the judges were a little tough on Georgia May and Giovanni's rhumba... I have seen tons worse and with far less rhumba content over the years! And that whole thing with Len losing his rag was tense!!! ooh the drama!
Kellie and Kevin's Charleston shouldn't have worked really but it absolutely did. Loved it.
Jay and Aliona's jive was just stunning, given how nervous he was at the launch show and how he shook like a leaf, his growing confidence is amazing to witness.
Peter Andre had far too much costume going on for his Paso, it detracted from the dance.
And Daniel O'Donnell is just creepy, he is a creepy creepy man who can just about dance and with an enormous fan base to keep him in the show. He makes me shudder.
And Gleb and Anita...just...phew!!
I'm sensing that Jamelia's days may be numbered, she's rather heavy footed- she's spent more time giggling and not listening to Tristan. Bless him he can only do so much for her, sometimes i think that lovely smile of his is getting a bit forced now. Love Jeremy, he is such a sweetheart, as is Ainsley.
