Lol! indeed BBC NI Radio Drama are nothing but the best!

Love the raising hands and back slapping bit!

I am not sure if there will be photos now though because of rights issues. But Damien wearing his festive jumper (3 months early at time of the recording!) on video? what could be better than that!

Glad you enjoyed fifi, glofigs and Pradakat, and everyone else who viewed this topic (do feel free to comment!)

fifi, I was just catching up with the fine comedy R4 routinely provides and got a lovely little extra.

So typically I have work on Sunday at 4pm...I may start listening and see how far I get and catch up when I get home, or I might just wait and listen to it in its entirety when I get home!

Just to remind everyone there is a special 'Friday Nights Is Music Night' on BBC Radio 2 TONIGHT 8 - 10pm celebrating the music of 'The Commitments', which will be a great appetizer to the drama on Sunday! Roddy Doyle himself will be there!

I did!
Wasn't too keen on the orchestral stuff but the Commitments music & previews for the radio play were amazing.
Role on Sunday afternoon!

WHOOP! did you do a lot of jigging about Becca? I loved it! dancing
I know what you mean about the orchestral parts, but there is something grand and wistful and kind of filmic about it that I got into too. Really cool to hear from Roddy Doyle!

All in all, it was a perfect entree for Sunday.

Have to agree that the book is just perfect for a radio adaptation....and of course, it goes without saying that Damien should be top of the cast list....

Really looking forward to this.....fingers crossed that I get to listen to it live.

How fantastic was that? what a fab production from BBC NI Radio Drama and awesome to hear Damien's voice back on the radio again!

It was real ensemble piece, great cast, I am going to enjoy listening again and picking out Damien's parts as James Clifford AND Niall Clancey!

Music was amazing too, courtesy if The Riptide Movement

that had an fantastic soundtrack! I know it was a live band, but the music was great! and as someone who has never heard damien on the radio before, it was quite a treat! the whole cast was brilliant!! I couldnt reconize his voice at first, because they all sounded the same to me, but as soon as I got used to it, i could pick out his voice then, especailly loved the phone bit.

Iv'e just listened, gotta say i was a bit dissapointed. I find these radio things a little hard to follow as it is and i find my concentration drifting whenever damien isnt on...therefore this happened a lot during this show lol!!

It sounded like they had a lot of fun though x
