The UK/ europe Ripper Street 1 dvd has 1 extra: Walking Whitechapel: Behind the scenes of Ripper street
The US/Canada Ripper Street 1 dvd has 4 extra: Inside Looks, Character Profiles, London Calling and Jack the Ripper(info via dvdtalk)
another striking difference between the regions is the DVD artwork for Series 1.. the US ones always seem more gory! (remember the BH dvd cover differences?)
that's interesting that the US version has more extras. Considering when they air episodes BBCA tends to do a hack job of the episodes.
Yes, the US covers seem to be more violent!

This is crap. The S2 DVD running time is exactly 58 min per episode. What happened to Damien's interview?! It's already filmed!

Yes from the back covers of the dvds and the blu-rays (both the single series and the boxset) it it really does look like there are no other extras, as you say whimsy frustrating when we know there is more out there.. and there have to be outtakes and bloopers!
But, it is still a thrill to see our DaMo on the back of another DVD after Being Human
The official Region 1 (US/Canada) Ripper Street 2 DVD / Blu-ray info and artwork is out - it will be released on 15 April and has the cast interviews as an extra. (Unlike the region 2 UK/Europe dvd!)
As we heard earlier in this topic, the US version of the Ripper Street 2 DVD/Blu-ray has an extra with cast interviews... I am longing to know all about that and if there is any Damien / Flight footage/behind scenes/ interview?
American forumers! Do you have your copy of the Ripper Street 2 DVD yet?
It woud be great to hear from you!
I received my Blu Ray a couple days ago and was disappointed to see that unlike the original listings on Amazon stated, it DOES NOT include any cast interviews. There is only one bonus feature: "Beneath Ripper Street", and while it was interesting to see, it only had a few bits and pieces of Damien's interview that was posted on the BBCA website. There are a couple seconds where he talks about arriving on the charred church set (Ep 6?, I can't remember if that's the one) and I hadn't seen that.
And no Flight on the cover or disk artwork. The menu screen is the same static photo from the cover showing jacket & feet & cobblestones. Not even scenes looping.
Feel very cheated, to be honest, considering all the support we showed both during the show and petitioning for a S3.
