No, it was a very brief generic interview, favourite music, drink and that kind of thing, no mention of the show. When I turned the page of the same magazine Suspects was named as one of the shows to watch next week, no picture of the boy but he was name checked as "Ripper Street's Damien Molony"
Yeah odd that isn't it? there was another magazine (I think posted earlier in this topic) mentioning Suspects for January too. Odd because Channel 5 themselves have not added Suspects to their schedules yet! (nice PR lady is going to let us know as soon as they do )
Woman magazine tweeted me back to tell me that the announcement was correct at the time of going to press so if that Celebrity Big Brother rubbish hadn't been extended til Wednesday then we would've been seeing the first episode this Wednesday coming. I have my fingers crossed for a February 5th transmission date in that case :)
Ah well, i just assumed if it wasn't going to be shown on Jan 29th then it would begin the following week. It's a shame because Inspector George Gently returns to BBC 1 on Thursday Feb 6th as according my fic-writing brain, i'd be seeing Hal and Wyndam on consecutive days of the week.... :D
Anyone else thinking channel five are just going to play a version of pin the tail on the donkey with Suspects? Pin a transmission date for a new show? Close their eyes and blindly stab. They have to share a tx date with us soon! (and they haven't responded to my tweet either...)
the channel 5 schedules come out on Wednesdays, and there have been 2 delays according to Channel 5 publicist, but this week we should officially know the air date! Press who are claiming TX dates already are incorrect.
We also have had confirmation it will definitely be February!
OK, so after Lisa mentioned Woman magazine printed (as it turned out wrongly) Suspects was due to air on a Wednesday, I have been looking at the schedules, for possible 'days of the week' it could be.
Wednesday 5 Feb at 9pm a new series of NCIS starts (1/24)
Thursday 6 Feb at 9pm a new series of hotel Inspector begins (1/8)
Friday 7 Feb at 9pm Ben Fogle: New Lives in The Wild (2/4)
It could be that it is not a 9pm time slot, but that seems most likely and channle 5 tend to focus on 1 big thing per night, so unlikely it will be on any of the above nights.
considering we have had it confirmed it will def be February, perhaps it will be a Saturday after all? Saturday 8th is not scheduled yet.....
I wondered about Tuesday night. CSI Las Vegas usually airs in that slot but the current series has begun to air yet, i think that happens around March time, it may be later because neither CSI Miami or CSI NY are in production any more so it may be pushed back til late spring/early summer instead.
I can't see it being Sunday night, there is far too much competition in the 9pm time slot and the 8pm from BBC One and Sky 1. It would be absolutely crushed. BBC One have Call the Midwife at 8pm and currently The Musketeers airs at 9pm. Sky 1 have Hawaii Five O at 9pm and NCIS:Los Angeles at 10pm. And Top Gear is scheduled to return on BBC Two in the 8pm slot. And ITV are showing Mr Selfridges or something, that thing with Jeremy Piven in it, and that's popular too. Channel 5 traditionally has much smaller audiences than BBC One and ITV but Suspects would be absolutely slaughtered if it aired on a Sunday night.
Monday night would be a good fit, i don't think there's anything to compete against in the 9pm slot off the top of my head.
So at a guess, channel 5 might go for the Tuesday night 9pm slot as traditionally that's their crime slot.

Yes it totally could be Monday, Tuesday or Suday, but Ia m with you Lisa Sunday unlikely. It could be the 9pm Tuesday slot, except Law & Order SVU begins on Tues 4th Feb for a 24 ep series in the 10pm slot...but they could have 2 crime dramas back to back!
I hope it isn't Sundays, partly due to the major competition from BBC1 and ITV, but also because there's a major new Police drama starting on C4 on the 9th. It's being directed by Danny Boyle, so they're promoting it a lot - they even had a trailer for it at the cinema today!
Am still hoping for Saturdays, or Tuesdays. As you know, Mondays are very bad for me...
Reading all this speculation on times and the competition is making my head spin! LOL But more than that, making me worry we'll have a Being Human and Ripper Street -esque ratings issue all over again.
Monday's scare me, just from the RS experience, but if there really is no competition on that night anymore - any reality TV shows? - then I guess that wouldn't be so bad. Tuesdays would work - people wanting to tune into L&O:SVU could get sucked into Suspects.
Saturdays seem good as well. Just will be harder for me to see it then.

whimsy, channel 5 is a much smaller channel than either BBC 1 or ITV, it won't get the kind of audience figures that Ripper Street got in either runs. It will be doing well if it gets close to the three million mark.
We're all speculating that it could get the 9pm slot, depending on content, it could get an 8pm slot instead. And having back to back crime shows on that channel has happened before, a while back, the channel used to show a brand new episode of CSI:LV on a Tuesday at 9pm and then a repeat of either CSI Miami or NY would be shown at 10pm so it's not unheard of.
Agree with you Lisa, the reality is channel 5 is usually not the front runner in ratings, but...... we can hope a combination of canny scheduling and intense promotion will maximize it's potential!
We do keep going on about it but only because it is majorly relevant - this IS the first original drama for the channel for 8 YEARS...that alone gives it an edge above usual shows on the channel.
I have my fingers crossed for a saturday night schedule, that would be good i think. Hope we find out this week! Very excited to see damo back on the tele box :) xx

So, Wednesdays, huh? I wonder if this one is actually accurate.
Gorgeous new picture. I hope they start seriously promoting it by end of this week! More than just the trailer, when will we get to see the interview!

Going by the official line, the schedules are not out until today / tomorrow, but who knows, I am always surprised any publication would print an unconfirmed air date, but I guess schedules move around.
Fingers crossed for solid news very soon.......
And Glofigs, the picture is very arresting indeed! :cuffs2:
Sorry to say .... as i mentioned yesterday the schedules are not out yet and this appears to have been a punt on the part of the magazine. but watch this space, official TX date coming very soon!
