Who do you think is talking when the character says about being a brother?
The brother quote will more than likely be Jackson talking about his brother as his brother is supposed to appear in this episode (i think?)
I'm wondering whether Flight's secret is that he's working undercover for Abberline or someone more sinister and with an axe to grind... hoping it's the former and not so sinister.
no domino, what I said is NONE of the quotes sound like Flight, but those two are surely ABOUT him.
Sounds like Reid is the one directly mentioning Flight and the other sounds like Abberline praising (sarcastically?) Reid for house training Flight. (Like a puppy, bless him!)

"My cuckoo in another man's nest" has me almost convinced that Flight is a spy for someone... (and now i've said that, it will pertain to something completely different) ;)
The cuckoo quote made me think Flight too, could be related to his secrets.
Having said that though it's probably something said between Jackson & his brother - it doesn't look like they get along very well.

hmmmm... I didn't think about that. It is curious his name is Flight... many bird references in RS... I can't think of anyone else this quote could pertain to! Extra excited now!

And in the Radio Times it says something about one of the team being found to be a traitor! Which is what I meant to say about the trail yesterday.
what, what, what??? where are the references to a traitor?

You might expect a lack of murders in Whitechapel to be a cause for celebration, but Reid is worried about things being too quiet. He's right to be concerned. What with guilt-wracked Bennet indulging in self-flagellation and Jackson distracted by his dodgy brother showing up from South Africa and bringing diamond-tinged, get-rich-quick dreams with him, the good detective is seriously short of sidekick support just when DI Shine is up to no good again. The first in a two-part series finale is bleak, brutal and brilliant. Jonathan Wright
I would argue he has sideckick support in Flight... but now I'm not really sure after all this talk of him possibly being a traitor. Our Betrayal is the title after all... #worried

there is little mention of Damien in all the promo for this episode. But we know he is in it and we suspect..it is a big one for him. This makes me wonder if there is a reason for keeping it quiet........
hmmm whimsy - know what you mean...'Our Betrayal' does sound a bit...worrying - especially with the 'cuckoo' quote, and the return of Shine (which we know is happening) and the liar confession (which surely means that something is not as it seems).
I wonder how much we will find out tonight, and how much of a cliffhanger there will be into next week.... not long to wait now!!
OK....am now starting to go back to the idea that he is actually a sergeant and the constable thing is deception...... Think maybe I need to find something else to focus on for the next 1 3/4 hrs!
So, lots of Damien in tonight's episode of Ripper Street - and it was the big revelation of his secrets!
Stunning performance from Damien, conflicted and tension filled, and we are left on a massive cliffhanger for next week!

will be hanging on by my fingernails till next week! This was what we feared since he "fell asleep"
Pearl, I don't know. Next week could go so many ways! Flight could redeem himself by stopping (killing?) Shine, and the rest of crew don't know of his involvement with Shine, so he continues at H-Division or... all other scenarios point to no more Flight, one way or another...

How was Damien on the second page of credits after that episode? He's so not a bit part character! The end of that episode was so heartbreaking with Drake stood outside the station - love it!
I honestly don't know what they've been doing with the credits. They are all over the place this series.
