oh how my hand wants to move the cursor and click on that ticket link. cry

That's a funny little insight into the author's preferred reader.  So, if the story is based in the town Othello, WA, then is it too far flung to assume Damien will be doing an American accent?  He seems to be becoming the go-to guy for American accents... and he is very good at it!

ditto whimsy! (to both the cursor and I also asked the same about the accent!)

Damien read First Person Shooter with an accent, I guess it depends on the kind of dialogue but I am betting he will!

If it's set in the States, then I think he'll dust off the American accent. Great but also a bummer, it's always nice to hear him speak in his normal voice.

what kind of an accent is Othello WA Whimsy? his first person shooter sounded very Chicago-esque to me (but I am totally not versed in american accents!)

I can almost hear his voice in my head.  He's always very expressive with both his voice and hands.  God I wish I were there to see this performance.

Damien's reading of Marjorie Celona's 'Othello' is now finished, fingers crossed for more pics and possibly a recording!

The judges pick the winning short story and it will be announced tomorrow, but there is also a public vote, (not counted towards the award itself) let's vote for Damien's author,  here

Looking forward to hearing all about the reading from the lucky few who were there tonight!

done!  does anyone know if it was actually being judged based on the live readings, or was this a pre-judged award.  I assume the latter.

@whimsy a panel of judges select the winner, and it is the short stories being judged not the reading.

Would love to hear from everyone who saw Damien read last night, please do come and tell us all about it!
