Ooh the suspense!

I'll stick with my thought processes from a few pages back in this topic:

 

Trellick - legal, blond, tall toff (doesnt fit the physical spec)

Ross - head of marketing 30s (possible)

Leamington - A&R man at Virgin (possible)

Ladbroke -  very minornot much known about him, but he was present at a dance scene where air guitar was played! (possible)

Rob Hastings - A&R man works with Stelfox , thin, scruffy, stoner (possible)

Schneider - Head of A&R, Hastings & Stelfox boss (described as jewish version of Trellick) (older - may not fit the spec, could this be Jospeh Mawle?)

Exciting to see this in Spotlight today!
(hopefully the film will appear on Damien's Spotlight cv soon!)

Damien Molony – Drama Centre London’s 2011 nominee is currently shooting feature film Kill Your Friends, alongside Craig Roberts and Nicholas Hoult, and also starred as Hal inBeing Human, and Det. Con. Albert Flight in Ripper Street.

I knooow! But, it was a while before we knew Damien's character in Ripper Street if you recall. The powers that be clearly would prefer we didn't even know he was cast yet! why I do not understand .. promotion / all discussion / excitement is a very good thing! But... I do feel more sure now that Damien is playing one of the mainish 'group', which are all still minorish roles but not just cameos.

Agree, this list is all kinds of awesome.  So this is actual official confirmation... of possibly good sized role...

I agree that these articles both suggest that Damien has a main cast role - as he so totally should have - but I presume his inclusion in this list is because they are all represented by Spotlight.  It's frustrating that they finished filming so long ago, and Spotlight have now published 2 articles linking Damien to the film, but it's still not listed on his Spotlight profile page.....

Well, I believe that they are going to keep us excited and waiting for a while. But this is awesome, finally some news :)

Fascinating read in yesterday's Guardian, from John Niven on Kill Your a Friends becoming a film.

i think he forgot to add Damien's name to that cast list, don't you?

I really must read this book.

And excellent article, thanks for that, domino. Writing interesting but not especially likable characters has been the bane of my existence. Give me interesting but understandable characters and I'm in. I get the need for likable. It does add that extra dimension. Being able to root for someone does add that emotional connection, fair enough. And it's great to feel good after all. But the interesting ones will keep me hanging on, keep me thinking, stimulate me, that is, keep me interested and focused, thinking about what the film's about. So, hello! Give me interesting.

Lol fifi not only did they not get it but they underestimated other actors who would be as much of a draw if not more than Hugh Grant and wayyy more appropriate! (maybe stick big spoilers about storyline in the spoiler tags?)

Stelfox is an anti hero with few redeeming qualities so it is a huge achievement having the audience of the book connecting to the material at all. I do think it will not be for some peoples' tastes this film, so it is not going to be like an international mainstream uber blockbuster but it will be hugely popular and have that cult film status.

After mention of Rosanna Arquette's character in a cameo role it did make me wonder about Damien's role, but I am still thinking he has to be in the mainish group surrounding Stelfox, some of which haven't yet been named in imdb cast list.

Just saw this too whimsy!

Damien totally doenst fit the spec for Trellick but as you say Joseph Mawle less so!

and now Damien is the only actor with no casting info! how to keep a whole fandom guessing!

So, back to my original guesses for Damien:

Another thought occurred to me last night, we have seen Damien's impressive sideburns from when he was filming.. what if he is not playing any of those characters at all, but a famous Britpop dude from the era? (known for their impressive sideburns!)

I must admit my frequent trips to the Kill Your Friends imdb page are becoming depressingly predictable..
