I voted for "romantic comedy" cause I think it would suit Damien so well.
BH has horror, romance , comedy , drama and when I look back his work in that tv-show I would really like to see Damien in leading role in romantic comedy. Perhaps I enjoyed most of those romantic and funny parts in BH
And when I have watched Suspects I have seen that Damien has so much comedy and humor inside him, I want to see more of that and allow it to flourish! And well, more romance cause I haven't seen it enough. It would be perfect movie genre for him.
My second choice would be drama. Maybe because of the Ripper Street. He did excellent job there. (*waving Team Flight-flag*)
I'm going straight for the romance. The kind with lots of naughtiness. Because I'm in a very shallow mood.
I wouldn't mind romantic comedy, but it would have to be the sardonic type of sassy comedy he's proven to do so well, not what I consider a rom-com style, more overt comedy. I feel it doesn't suit him, he's too talented at showing things subtly that I feel it would be an insult to his talent to be in a more slapsticky type of comedy, which many rom-coms seem to be. (though maybe my perception is wrong)
Agree with everyone else - Western dead last! Musical second to last, because although I adore all the singing scenes in Being Human, I do not care for musicals in general.

Thank you Whimsy :) Agree with you guys there, Western would be my last choice too.My second last would be horror, I just don't see Damien could fit in horror movie.
Of course I was thinking same kind of rom-com that appears in BH in time to time, I think would suit him very well, as it did in BH.
To choose just one may take a while - that's a really tough choice! But I think I'm onto a loser anyway.........romcom and musical would be bottom of my list!
Yay! good to see you all getting stuck into this one, loving the comments, particularly your excellent post with the screencaps JozieMozie!
You see the problem is, I keep making polls I myself cannot answer!
Pearl, Damien's Puttin On The Ritz is a gem in his (and our) actorly history, but musical is also somewhere at the bottom of the fave list for a film for Damien to be in, for me. I totally agree about the song and dance man inside. Maybe a biopic of a musicians life?
You guys don't like the idea of a 'Western'? it conjures up certain images.. but I could see Damien on horseback galloping across the plains!! maybe in some modern day version of a western. One could say Quentin Tarantino movies are Western-esque... look at Django Unchainde. and I for one wouldnt have minded seeing Damo in that! it depends on the western...
I'd love to see him in a grown up noir thriller, or an incredibly complex drama, or an intimate close-up drama (possible love story / tragedy thrown in), something cleverly written and totally non popcorn. On the other hand...... I would also love to see him in an action adventure blockbuster! even with sci fi elements!
I could go for the romance, but not as a straight up romance or romantic comedy... just as part of a bigger thing. I feel Damien is not a one note / one tone actor... and what I would enjoy the most is a multi genre film!! haha!
so that is a noir-thriller-drama-action-adventure-romance-scifi-with a touch of western thrown in for good measure!
I know it's hard, in my mind was first all these no-go ideas, like western and horror. I know Damien would look perfect (always) but it's just not something I would like see him to do
I would like to see him in some old war film or something like that, just for excuse to see him wear uniforms like this again:
But then again that have nothing to do what kind of film I would really like to see him. I would only see.. him
I just tried to sum up all those good sides of him I would like to see more I really love his subtle humor, that mixed up with some crazy love story.
I think, I would like to see some drama, maybe tragic romance, that, owing to unfortunate circumstances ends with the death of at least one of the main characters or best both/all of them.
Or maybe I am just in a mood for somthing like this. :D
To be honest, I just want to see him in everything! When he posted that pic from the fundraiser in his wetsuit, I had just seen Pacific Rim and I totally conjured visions of him in a sci-fi/action movie with cool futuristic costume. When thinking of a couple of my favorite fantasy books I can totally picture him fighting with a sword, or working magic, or riding on a dragon... Noir sounds yummy, he pulled off the look and feel of that genre in 1950's Hal so well. I REALLY would love him to use his natural accent or Brit accent whenever possible, so again Western out for me. But to have him galloping on a horse in some Period drama - YES PLEASE!!! I was sad we never got to see him as Hal on a horse with his red shield...
When I say Romance, I don't mean flighty, giggly, airhead type romance - which is what I equate to romantic comedy and hence I didn't pick that. Though by all means, some comedy is good. I mean a drama that has him as a romantic character. A chance for us to see him all starey with the sexy eyes and lack of personal space... But I want him to have a character full of depth and layers and could go for what Nana said, a tragic one.

I said I could go for something with a tragic ending, but would prefer he didn't die (though I do have a bit of a morbid curiosity to see how he would act that out). The other main characters can die, and he just has to tragically live on without them. Really, not much different than what Hal's been through over and over again. I can live with that.
And you're right, we don't know what happens to him in KYF. Those of you that have read, are the possible roles available ones that survive???

TBH - I'd really like to see Damien in something with a little less tragedy, and a lot more smiling (but not a straight up comedy) - he does smiling very well too, but we don't get to see it often enough.
It's so much easier to say what I wouldn't want!
"a noir-thriller-drama-action-adventure-romance-scifi-with a touch of western thrown in for good measure!"
...so if you could just add this to the poll that would be great! I'm not objecting - but I'm rather surprised that you missed out period....
Oh good point... agree, we don't want anything tooooo tragic.. maybe I mean angsty... something with a little confliction going on... as opposed to tragic?

good grief.... what an oversight... and Damien in a period piece would be.. astounding.. but in choosing just ONE film?....hmmm... I dont know! what about throwing in time travel, so we get all periods?
I'm going for drama, possibly one of my favourites (I think Damien has the perfect eyes, emotional range, and will put heart and soul into it with research). Anything but horror or western to be honest, or over certificate 15, as posted I'm a wuss in another thread.
