That doctor was a wild card, i really had no idea why she was there at all and I didn't quite believed what she said. But loved it was Jack and not Charlie who went to talk to her

I agree with that assessment Ithaca.  Jack does kind of take over...of course he is her superior too.

he does Ithaca, well put.. he is very comfortable in his own skin and in the role

Love the desk scenes where Jack is at his computer, no idea why... maybe some kind of mirror thing that we are talking about the episode looking at our computer screens looking at him looking at his computer screen...

Jozie, Dr Standish seemed like an obvious suspect from early on, but they focussed on Terence's wife Henrietta for quite some time before they got to her! but we are jumping ahead...

onwards?

Scenes 6-10 (15 mins)

Scene 6: (04.16-05.09)

Jack and Charlie interview Jess Holland at the hospital. She says Terence has been really positively lately. She has a key but that evening was at friend Edna Locks' house from about 6ish for a couple of hours. Matthew (brother/husband) was out with friends and does not know about Terence.

Scene 7: (05.10-6.22)

Jack, Charlie are in the main office. The toxicology report show Terence suffered a morphine overdose and traces of Zopiclone (sleeping tab) were also found. Henrietta's sleeping tablets were found in the kitchen area and Terence's medication log book shows there is a vial of morphine missing from the fridge. Martha suggests they need to find out how the pills were administered. Jack has been in touch with Terence and Henrietta's solicitors, divorce papers were sent to H a month ago and she still hasn't signed them, as T is well off, could there may be a financial motive for his murder?

Scene 8: (06.23-07.14)

On the sleeping evidence, Jack and Charlie go to the hospital to arrest Henrietta. Jack asks Charlie if she wants to do it, she says no. Jack arrests her on suspicion of assisting a suicide, she protests and Jack says he doesn't want to have to use handcuffs, "Let's go quickly, let's go quietly".

Scene 9: (07.15-08.49)

Jack interviews Henrietta (solicitor present) who says she hasn't signed the divorce papers because they decided to give it a go, kept it quiet to avoid outside pressure from family. Jack asks her about the sleeping pills and the argument, she claims there was no argument, they talked for a hour then she went to sleep.

"Well, we've found traces of the pills in his system. Just something for you to think about."

"You're husband has a lot of money, he's terminally ill and I  think you wanna get your hands on that...."

"...You gave him sleeping pills, you knocked him out and you dosed him up to the gills with morphine ok..."

she strongly protests she would never have done that.

Scene 10: (8.50-09.01)

Martha and Jack walk to the office, Martha asks if Jack bought Henrietta's story he replies "I can't figure out if she's genuine upset or if she's bullshitting us. Ok, but if I was a betting man, I'd say that this argument was about money".

So Henrietta becomes suspect #1......

not sure I liked Jack when he got the handcuffs out at the hospital, and said "I don't want to have to use these." It didn't feel entirely necessary.

well maybe I did.. on one level!

Ok, it was lots Charlie&Jack combo before Martha joined in.
In scene 8 I liked how Jack arrested her, but wondered why Charlie didn't want to do it

I felt sorry for Henrietta.  I knew she didn't do it for some reason.  It would have been too obvious.

Loved how Jack asked Charlie if she wanted to make the arrest though... we know how competitive they are on that, and here he is being gracious, it is that confidence in his own skin again..

I wonder if Charlie had a gut feeling that Henrietta didn't do it.

Domino,

I thought so too with the handcuffs, though it isn't unusual to do that with a suspect.

He used the 'threat, which seems too strong a word, of cuffs to keep things calm, but I didn't see where she appeared to need them at all.

Jane, me too... that is why I thought Jack went in a little harsh...

Agreed Jozie, but it still annoyed me I felt it was unnecessary really, and a bt threatening

I'm pretty sure in the US you get handcuffed no matter what.  I may be wrong about that, having never been arrested.

Maybe Jack was thinking in that perspective that this was about money, so he was unnesesarily hard on her and Charlie didn't want to arrest her because she was feeling pity for her?

Anyway, I only feöö bad for Henrietta when Jack was interviewing her.

apart from that, his tone was quite gentle in the hospital.

then we saw more of Jack's 'you did it' mode interviewing style:

"Well, we've found traces of the pills in his system. Just something for you to think about."

"You're husband has a lot of money, he's terminally ill and I think you wanna get your hands on that...."

"...You gave him sleeping pills, you knocked him out and you dosed him up to the gills with morphine ok..."

I agree, domino. I think the handcuffs weren't really necessary as I felt that Jack and Charlie already 'convinced' Henrietta enough to come with them.

exactly HLH, though just saw what you said Jane... maybe they were in fact doing her a favour by not using handcuffs..

US -

Arrested = cuffs

Questioning =! cuffs

But that aside

I don't understand why Charlie would pass this off to Jack.

Maybe to give the impression that Charlie could be an ally, good cop and all that.

Jack was full on in the interview... but I do love his 'dog with a bone' setting, it is galvanising to watch!
