This is the most difficult poll yet. I want to choose both of them! Both incredibly powerful, meaningful kisses for the same and different reasons all at once.
Flight and Evelyn's kiss is what brought me to Damien but now I've watched Being Human and read some wonderful Hal and wonderful Halex fan fic, Hal and Alex's kiss seems to be so, I'm not sure how to describe it. Loving isn't quite the right word; filled with something more than Flight and Evelyn's kiss because of their history together. It made me cry which Flight and Evelyn's kiss didn't.
I chose Flight and Evelyn, I really love Flight (probably everybody knows it already) but I chose that because it's so beautiful, surprising and lovely. Not that Hal and Alex kiss wouldn't be but I liked it when it was surpririse to Flight, it was cute
I still can't decide! I love Flight too as JozieMozie knows!
Evelyn and Flight - it is that incredible look on Flight's face just before Evelyn kisses him (fear/hope/want) when she says he frightens her, and his beautiful reaction to her kiss when he touches his fingers to his lips, that get me every time, rather than the actual kiss.
Hal and Alex - I'm sad that he kisses her when he is on the blood. A clean Hal kissing Alex would have been even more heartbreaking. But would he have had the courage to kiss her? When Alex confronts him about the blood then he seems more like scared, awkward Hal again.
Domino - the surprise to me is that you've actually created a poll where I don't think I'm going to vote for Hal!!!!!! I say 'going to' - I haven't done it yet 'cos I can't quite believe it. lol!
I agree absolutely with everything which Rosie has already said. The Hal/Alex kiss is so full of lies, deception and denial. I love that scene in many ways...but it is a calculated act of seduction by Hal and doesn't have that 'in the moment' spontaneity.
Whereas Flight's reaction when Evelyn kisses him really is beautiful. And even though he has set out to try and win her trust with deception his response really does seem spontaneous and heartfelt.....and innocent.
And just a little bit more passionate!!

Deception was involved in both these kisses... and they were both loaded with multiple meaning.
I do agree that Hal's kissing Alex was calculated to an extent... but there was more to it than that. Hal did have genuine feelings for Alex, but was he trying to manipulate her without actually wanting to kiss her and be close to her.. emotionally as well? was the kiss entirely devoid of genuine feeling? despite the fact that 'bad Hal' was simmering away quite close to the surface, vulnerable Hal was also present.
I agree Hal's feelings for Alex are genuine...and I don't think he's conciously trying to manipulate her. But I do think that he uses her as an excuse to drink blood. And yes - vulnerable Hal is still present.....but Alex previously said that they should talk about how they feel about each other and Hal chooses to get 'out of his scone' and try to seduce her.
AND I get really mad at Alex in this scene too. She KNOWS that he's been drinking blood - she recognises the signs but chooses denial. It is a lovely moment(!) but, like I said....in context there is just too much deception and denial. It's the moment that their relationship becomes doomed!
Whereas almost the opposite is true with Flight.....it appears to be a moment of truth amid the deception (or at least that's the way I see it!)
Um, the Alex/Hal kiss was pretty hot but it looked a bit awkward. Also, I don't like Alex at all. In my fics, I try to make her a bit more bearable but ugh. I'm gonna have to go with Flight/Evelyn despite the weird camera angles. Would have been better if we could see more! I like the cute innocence of that kiss. It's sweet.
The more everyone discusses it, the sadder the Hal and Alex kiss is. They both have genuine feelings for each other but they cannot be together the way they are at that stage. I think good Hal is too afraid, coupled with his guilt about Alex's death, to admit his feelings and the blood gives him the confidence to kiss her. I don't like who he is when he is drinking blood and Alex doesn't either because it is adorkable Hal that she fell for. So her denial of the situation is annoying but, I think, understandable. She wants to give him the benefit of the doubt because of her feelings for him. But the threat of the ever approaching Bad Hal makes us question everything about that kiss. I think that their kiss would have been so much more beautiful if it had been when they were both 'human'.
I agree that Flight's reaction to Evelyn's kiss is probably one of the only true things we see about him. Which is what made me love him - the little glimpse of who he really is underneath his cockiness and bravado.
LOL adorkable. To be fair, Hal also gets the horn when he's on Kia-Ora. But the fact that Alex is a ghost and can pick up people's thoughts. I mean, come on. She knew. Even so, I was never fond of the way she treated him. She kept pushing him away, and I think that's part of what allowed the resurgence of "Bad Hal". That's a ridiculous name by the way. Bad Hal is actually a more complete personality than Good Hal. He basically partitioned his mind at one point, and put all the guilt and remorse into a corner where it was never thought of. But nature seeks balance, and that part wakes up from time to time. That was my feeling, anyway. *SPOILER ALERT* That's why I like Human Hal at the end, because he was complete. <3 highlight to see...
I love Alex! I think she knew deep down, but didn't want to acknowledge it...didn't want to consider the possibility. But I can't blame her for that - we all make mistakes! And she really had no idea what she was dealing with. (unlike Tom, who also failed to notice Hal unravelling....but that's another topic entirely!!)
Domino, you're sick. and evil. Making us choose. I'm going to go stare at the gifs for a while and cry. This is going to take some soul searching.

I have to go with Hal and Alex because I had more invested in them. I wasn't really that invested, sorry to say, in Flight and Evelyn and that's what makes the difference for me.

That is what I love about these polls... the discussion that comes out of it. And this discussion is a fab reminder that drama / art is sometimes down to our individual and subjective interpretations / experience of it.
@fifi, wow you are making me think.. my experience of the whole Halex moment is that it is more spontaneous and less calculated, it didn't occur to me that Hal had planned it per se ... just that he's been trying to resist it (as well as the blood) and now couldn't resist either. He is more in denial than consciously deciding to do something... but do believe it is not either one or the other, nothing is black and white with Hal/ just layers.
@Cora agree, that is why most of us put 'bad Hal' and 'good Hal' inside parenthesis.... many a discussion has been had here on the many shades of Hal!
It has never been said in Being Human that 'gave Hal the horn'. but that was deffo my theory, which i posted here!
@Jane you make a great point... the Halex storyline had far longer to brew...
Haha - I could ramble on around this one for a long time.....but yes! I think that Hal decided to visit Rook because he wanted to get close to Alex - but it gave him the justification he so desperately wanted to get some more blood (and Alex gave him the perfect excuse to visit Rook - to find out about Bobbie) That's the moment when the self denial begins. The reason he hasn't made a move before is as much about his own fear of/for himself as out of repect for Alex (although that is obviously a big part of it too) Drinking blood has helped him to overcome that fear.....but he previously said that drinking blood meant that he had become the man he feared. The self - denial is complete! For me this kiss says more about Hal's bloodlust than his Alexlust.
The way he crept into the house so stealthily that Alex didn't hear him....and then the jangle of the keys, and "Alex" (I love that moment!!!) isn't spontaneous....it feels calculated.
Let's just say that something about Hal brings out the cynic in me.....and I basically always think the worst of him!
But now that I'm really thinking about it, I may have just convinced myself that I want to vote for Hal.....!!
I was thinking too which one of those kisses I would have love to have..
Did anyone else think that or was it just me?
Flight/Evelyn kiss.. Definitely There was love and passion in both sides, no confusion.
They are both first kisses, but I think Flight/Evelyn kiss was way more sweeter than Hal/Alex kiss.
Hal was on blood (I guess I could think he might as well him to be little drunk to have that kind of courage to kiss Alex finally) and Alex was confused and not so in to it
I was waiting when I watched BH that Hal could kiss Alex just because he really wants to and not on blood (even when Alex was alive, as we all may have seen the date didn't go so well when Hal was on blood). That kind of scene would have been very, very exciting.. (Thinking about Mitchell and Annie).
But of course, Hal/Alex kiss was very sweet too, they both really want that kiss deeply inside but it wasn't.. successful kiss, lets say it that way
Flight/Evelyn kiss was nothing like that. Only courage to kiss was pure lust in both sides. Very sweet, surprising first kiss
