Laura fight and got us tickets, but it seems I will have to wait till the end of Feb to see Damien! But i'm just glad we got tickets, they get sold out preeeetty quickly!! There are not many tickets left!
Sorry...you can't begin to imagine just how excited i am that finally, FINALLY i am going to get the chance to see Damien on stage again after what will be close to three years. Sis and I are seeing the March 28th matinee, we're in the Gods apparently (she booked) but we'll be there! We're almost literally coming in to see the play and then zipping off home again (couldn't persuade her to do an overnight, too expensive apparently) but finally after missing various productions and events, i'm going to see him on stage again. Stage dooring? Not sure.
But you should've seen the wiggle dance i did seated beside my 13 year old daughter when my sister texted me to confirm the tickets. On a CROWDED bus too. No eye rolling though, she's a fellow fan girl, she gets it.
Have identified theater near me showing the live broadcast & left message asking if it's truly live (11am for me) or not. Their individual booking site does not actually list it yet. Potentially Saemay, TangentiallyTJ, and Kimberfly will be flying in to see it with me, and make a weekend out of it. Our own #BHFieldTrip (can we still call them those?!) Getting really excited!

Whimsy, it's so good that this is one Damo project we can all enjoy together, all over the world!
Who else has managed to sort their tickets today, for National Theatre or NT Live? these tickets are literally flying off the shelves... I think January and February are sold out already!
I have a ticket too - thanks to Laura.....Thank You Laura!!
I nearly had a meltdown at work yesterday morning when she messaged me say that Jan had sold out. I was fully expecting it to sell out, but maybe not quite this quickly! I had hoped to go for my birthday too - might have seen you there Ruby...really glad for you that you're going! - but that's obviously not going to happen now.
I will definately be seeing it at NT live, though - it'll be on at my local cinema, but tix not available yet. 11am sounds like a perfectly reasonable time to me whimsy - so fingers crossed that you (all!) get to actually see it as it is broadcast too. How exciting!!
Don't forget there will be live broadcasts of the play 16 April at cinemas across the uk and across the world, check the NT Live website for venues near you, but I would also recommend phoning your cinema direct. I'd also recommend doing so QUICKLY to avoid disappointment.
I remember the site telling me it was all sold out for Othello. Checked a few weeks later and there were seats available. The National release more seats later. Well, they did on that occasion.
Thanks for the additional info on the live broadcasts. Didn't realise they did actual live recordings. What fun!

UJ, yes and sometimes there are returns on the day, also the NT site has said all along extra dates may be added, but there is another play running at the Dorfman March / April so I am not sure when they would fit them in ( or when the actors would manage, they are working flat out in the first 2 months! ).
it IS such a thrill that this play of Damien's will be broadcast live and as it happens, with NT Live! I have been looking into international broadcasts too, it seems some of them are not quite 'live' but are on the same day, but there are also some that are actually live - peeps may need to research that themselves and telephone all your local cinemas as not all the info is not the NT live website!
Knightley - woohoo! thank you for letting us knew, what part of the world are you in? very excited for you!
I have confirmed the one within an hour of me is screening at 7pm my time, which means it is NOT technically live. But, I'm fortunate to find anything within reasonable distance screening at all, much less on the day of. Also, one in San Francisco has an encore Mother's Day weekend (ours is in May), which is a couple days after my birthday. Looks like husband's present to me is sorted!

Happy to hear our American friends are going to be seeing DaMo's play too knightley and whimsy! I know there are proper live broadcasts in your country, but it seems not in every area. However, seeing the play a few hours after is also amazeballs!
After the disappointment of missing out on theatre tickets (still hoping I might get a day ticket or return), I was not going to miss out on getting an NT live ticket. I bought it while I was at the cinema this evening. I have my ticket in my grubby paws right now! The man at the cinema told me I was the first person to buy one!
