This topic has gone a bit quiet lately, I guess we're all feeling deflated by lack of airdate news.
So back to speculating on the when it might be (not that I've had a very good track record so far with this season!) CBB ends on September 24.. and the channel is going to need something big and brilliant to schedule after... like Suspects!
I am crossing fingers (again!!) for week beginning 28 September....
Well it's definitely missed the summer.....and judging by today's weather, I think we've skipped autumn entirely and just gone straight for winter. So fingers crossed that it airs before christmas!!!
Seems like a pretty good bet that it'll follow CBB....hasn't every other series come after a series of Big Brother?
Channel 5 schedule update: Suspects is not listed for week beginning 28 September (boo!) but.. the last 2 episodes of Wentworth Prison (series in the 10pm Weds slot for weeks) are airing back to back on Wednesday 30 Sept... leaving the slot free for Suspects to return the following week (yay!).
So my new date guess is Wednesday 7 October (unless they air 2 per week, in whihc case it could be Tues 6 and Weds 7!) Fingers crossed!
So, my guess that Series 4 would begin on the week after Wentworth Prison was totally wrong.. it is not loisted for the week beginning 5 October, or the week beginning 12 October either....
Damien is currently appearing in Clean Break on RTÉ One and Clare-Hope in Doctor Foster on BBC One so could it be related to that?
Why would a network announce an upcoming show and not air it? That makes no sense. Is Channel 5 doing anything to promote Suspects during the National Television Awards? Has the show become the Cinderella left to sleep in the attic and dress in rags?

True to form I was wrong again! Autopsy has been scheduled in the 10pm slot Weds 11 November. Beginning to wonder if it is going to be 2015 at all.....
I find it very strange that the series was announced on air, for summer, then the trailer came and disappeared and now nothing!
I know what you mean Rosie, but unless there are cast from Suspects in the new cop show on BBC one I don't see jow it would effect it much or at least there have been other cop shows airing simultaneously in the past series..
Perhaps the scheduling has been re thought now that there is a new series filming... and there will be an announcement about both series soon!
I just thought of something. What if they are waiting so that they can intermix episodes again? S3 had episodes from both previous filming blocks. Maybe if they wanted to integrate the story more in some way they've looked at how to rearrange what they have and written episodes to go between the existing ones? Just a thought.

I've wondered that too.. except series 4 has been sold 'as is' to the 7 network in Australia, and a series 4 trailer has already been released.... but it was subsequently removed so who knows..
there are still only 4 episodes on the IMDb entry (managed by Fremantle but again, could change..)
Looking back through this thread, here's a bit of a Series 4 timeline:
The announcement for series 4 for the summer came 21 January
Clare-Hope tweeted on 2 June that they were aiming for an August airdate
Kara Manley tweeted in June she hoped to have news for us all soon
In July episode 1 of series 4 was available online on australia's channel7, for just one night and was then removed
the Series 4 trailer aired on Channel 5 in August once (then vanished)
It is now nearly November...(that is 9 long months of waiting patiently for an air date... I am not sure why Channel 5 cannot give the very patient (but getting more impatient) audience some bloody news!
I've never seen anything quite this disorganized in regards to network behavior toward a television series. I wonder if the the original unshown episodes are so much rougher than the newer ones that they have had overhaul things. I think Whimsy and Fifi have mentioned something like that. Maybe the creator and network are at odds over how to manage the show, content-wise.
It still is ridiculous to me.

Could it be that after their show was getting more attention (international interest, nominations etc) they wanted to do something differently? Maybe add some new plot twist in the series that will get more audience or something. They are filming now series 5, maybe they want mix old and new episodes or something... No news so they changed something, they're doing something but they can't tell people until it's done and confirmed that this is how it goes. What in earth they are planning to do? No wonder we are getting impatient.. Urgh
I'm beginning to 'suspect' the same whimsy and fifi. There is no sign of a series 4 airdate any time soon. Coupled with the S4 trailer appearing and disappearing one wonders if the original decision to air in the summer suddenly changed due to another series being commissioned, and with it came the possibilitiy to add new episodes to S4 too?
I also suspect there will be an official announcement about both series together, hopefully soon!
