Yes that is so good to hear, even if the series is not greenlit, to see Damien as Robert Putnam in the pilot is a must! It would feel all kinds of wrong to know about this project and never have the pleasure of seeing it... such a synthesis of creatives. Although.... until the pilot is officially airing, I won't allow myself to believe it!

Domino, this info is certainly more "official" than my Instagram/Twitter stalkings!  Which earlier this week gave me hope, but the next exchanges I found sounded less positive.  

However (here comes party pooper me) I seriously doubt HBO would air the pilot as a standalone, not having commissioned an entire series. And if they did commission the series, the earliest it could possibly air is next spring/summer.  So... like yourself I'll believe it when I see something official.

You're right whimsy, I might be wrong but there have been standalone pilots / stories... and as this one is an hour long, maybe it could run in that way? Otherwise the comment from Zawe is a bit mysterious! Hoping for the full on series though obvs!

Please do share any clues you come across btw!

I can't help thinking that most of the time the people involved in making a tv programme have as little idea what the tv channel are going to do with it as the rest of us and are speculating just as much as we are..... In fact most of the time I'm not sure that the tv channels even know what they intend to do!

It's Father's Day in the U.S. too! I love the 'Mad Hair Duo' and can't wait to meet them either! It is especially intriguing because it seems like they got along well while filming. cameraspotlightspotlighthighfive

Another thought - what are they going to look like all done up as Puritans? The mad hair will have to be tamed a bit.

Good to know TJ, Mother's day seems to be at an entirely different time UK/US so I assumed it was the same.

We know what Pop Thomas Putnam is going to look like..

Or just get Damien to act in more TV shows. I'd love to see a dramatisation of your Hal and Sylvie story, whimsy! When I read it I can see it in my mind like it's on TV. Or a Flight prequel and /or sequel. Totally straying off topic now

The only reality tv shows I'd like to see DaMo in are celeb Masterchef and Strictly (they are not really reality shows are they lol). Or how about back to back Suspects, following Jack Weston and team around? that would do nicely!

We are getting dangerously off topic Rosie, but it IS fun!  topic

Surely we must be hearing soon about the pilot? I read somewhere that James Marsters was growing his sideburns in the hope the show will get picked up..... made me wonder if DaMo is doing the same!

Zawe Ashton is being interviewed tomorrow morning on the radio on BBC 6 Music about a new show she is in but I wonder if she will mention The Devil You Know?

I had a look at the The Devil You Know IMDb page the other day and Damien's IMDb filmog... I cannot be sure but I think the status has changed to pre-production? I also cannot be sure if it was always described as a miniseries.. but think that has been the case since it was added to IMDb during filming.

 

Not reading too much into it though!

Also not sure if this has changed, but the release date for the pilot is listed as 2015 in the US.

 

We do need to bear in mind that some IMDb pages get updated by official peeps, but they can also be added to by anyone (like the updates I make to Damien's IMDb page).

I was watching HBO last night and a pre-show warning came on.

N for Nudity.

I instantly flashed to Damien and went "Oh God, please yes!"
Out loud! Startled my dog. Then I had a fit of giggles at how blatantly shallow I am.

TJ you are halarious!  Not that we aren't all thinking it...

Last month HBO had trailers for two new shows so every time I watch something there now, I tense hoping for a trailer of TDYK.  As if they would have one yet! 

Domino, the IMDB info is the same as when I looked at it a couple weeks ago.  Dunno how acurate it is.  As you caution, must take the info there with a grain of salt.

The 'mini-series' has def been there since it was first added, but I thought we'd chatted a few days ago about the pre production bit.. hmmm... the 'words 'straws' and 'clutching' come to mind at this point.. so desperately wanting news on this one!
