Lord Hal 'Show No Mercy' vs Danny Dempsey 'All Ireland Boxing Champion' - The tale of 2 characters in posters!

Just thought I would leave these here for discussion...

Below are the Lord Hal 'Show No Mercy' Being Human poster and Danny Dampsey  'All Ireland Boxing Champion' (Clean Break) poster !

These posters are the ultimate symbol for each character in many ways and the background in Danny's poster brought to mind Hal's...

Hal and Danny are of course very different.. but it struck me that they both have a history...

Hmm, Bad Hal and Danny Dempsey. Both conflicted characters, both persuaded into something they didn't initially want to do - but then they diverge, Hal making a huge success of his task and becoming the above poster boy and Danny letting his humanity get the better of him and leading him into yet more trouble. Love both posters but still have a huge weakness for Bad Hal so it's still my favourite. Danny's poster shows him at the beginning of his story, Hal's shows him at (one of) the ending of his.
Mind you, if either are floating around . . .

Yes domino!  I'd noticed the similarity in the background design too.....it's not an unusual design, but still quite a coincidence!

It strikes me that both posters represent an unfulfilled future.

I love that Hal poster...it is still the lock screen on my tablet, and I have a sticker of it on my phone case.  And I have no intention of changing them any day soon.  But I agree with Ellie - if there's a spare one going of either......

Thanks for sharing your thoughts Eliie and fifi!
You are absolutely right there Eliie, conflicted angsty, troubled, tormented... just the kind of character we love to see Damien play and the kind he is exceptional at portraying and bringing to life.

An unfulfilled future yes indeed fifi! Also what comes to my mind is Hal's poster is representative of his possible future if he gives in to the temptation (the pull of his dark side) and Danny's poster represents the past that he lost because he gave in to temptation...

I always find the Show No Mercy poster powerfully sinister. The image of Hal, even though it's slightly abstract, just seems to exude supreme confidence and power even if you knew nothing of the story.

Funny that both posters have that same type of background.

It would be awesome to have either poster!

 Yes!

And it amazes me how a few simple lines capture Hal so well - you can tell immediately that it's him.  And it's strange how it looks like Hal....not so much like Damien!  I would love to see the other versions that were created...

The temptation theme is a good point too domino....we're good at this compare and contrast thing ain't we!

Your description of the Show No Mercy poster is perfect Rosie - sinister indeed and especially as it is impossible not to remember the scene in Being Human where we are introduced to it.

It is also kind of the ultimate symbolism for how powerful and dark Hal could be at his most extreme. It is what comes to mind with the title 'Lord Hal'... that phrase always makes me think of Hal as a commander and leader of the vampires and being his deliciously evil self. I say deliciously because when Hal is aligned with his vampire nature he is most at ease in his own skin and there is something celebratory about it.. which is compelling and awesome to watch. He is hypnotic. and somehow that hypnotises you into temporarily forgetting the murdery stuff!

Yes fifi we are a bit good at it! And I have to confess, when Clean Break began and we met Danny, conflicted, angsty Danny, I realised we have a whole lot of potential new Damo TV character polls to create !  we don't have a 'who is the angstiest' poll yet do we?
