The Damien Molony Forum would like to wish our readers a happy and safe Hal-loween!
What better way to celebrate this time of year than with a selection of treats from our favourite vampire Hal and the actor who portrayed him.
Check out our top 5 Hal-loween treats below.
Being Human Series 4 and 5
We don’t need an excuse to crack out the DVDs for this fang-tastic show, but no self-respecting fan can let Hal-loween pass without a Being Human Series 4 and 5 marathon!
Interview with a vampire
What are Damien’s top 3 fang flicks? He reveals all in this oldie-but-goodie interview from 2013, well worth a re-visit for Hal-loween. Click here to watch.
Cool Gothic and the New Vampire
At this time of year just over 2 years ago, Damien attended the Cool Gothic and the New Vampire panel at the BFI alongside Being Human creator Toby Whithouse: an event of pure awesomeness, a perfect celebration of Hal-loween. At the event, both shared fang-tastic insights into Being Human and Hal, as well as their experiences of horror and Being Human’s place in the gothic ‘tradition’. Appearing alongside them were alumni from the best TV shows of the genre, actor Anthony Head Buffy), writer Dominic Mitchell In The Flesh, director Farren Blackburn (The Fades), actor Lily Loveless (The Fades). Raven
“Deep into that darkness peering, long I stood there wondering, fearing, Doubting, dreaming dreams no mortal ever dared to dream before..”
This one is a little off topic, but as part of Damien’s repertoire, his audio book Raven is a must for Hal-loween. At the time of the year where ‘the veil between the worlds’ is said to be at its thinnest, indulge in a little mystery with this story, read cover to cover by Damien. Listen to our exclusive clips here or better still, treat yourself to the full 5 CD story (available internationally and with 31% discount) from Fantom Film’s website here.
Me and The Devil
Talking of Damien voicing a compelling tale, enter into “a world of dark family secrets and revenge” with short story by Eimear McBride, read by Damien on BBC Radio 4 in March this year. To listen, click here
Hal-loween, The Film
And finally, would you like to see your fave vampire in his very own film? Design your own Hal-loween movie poster and join in with a little fan fun at the forum here!
"I've spilt more blood than you'll ever drink, I've seduced more women than you can imagine and I've sired enough vampires to raise an army of my own! You have opened the box, awoken the kraken, you have quite literally unleashed the beast, I am Lord Henry Yorke and you will obey me!"
I haven't watched that deleted scene in an age! So worth going back to. I'd love to see it properly edited....with special effects n music n stuff.
On the other hand I probably listen to the devil and me about once a week. It's such a beautiful piece of writing......so evocative, so poetical. There are phrases in it which I find running round and round inside my head like music. I really must read some of her stuff! And Damien's reading of it is .....immediate - carries so much conviction.....ugh! I'm so lacking in vocabulary! I absolutely love it!!
Glad you enjoyed TJ
The thing with that deleted scene is Hal is being Mock Lord Henry Yorke (or is he?) but it gives us a glimpse of his potential and no doubt he is telling the truth, so reminds us of what he has done and is capable of. the whole Alex thing too..
Also, there is something that looks like a pumpkin on the bar top, so had to post for Hal-loween!
