Molonians! We've been asked by Uni Monsters Universe if we'd like to put some questions to the director and producer of Tiger Raid.

Here are a few questions I thought we could ask, please do come and add your own! 

 

Can you say a little about the training the actors had for Tiger Raid, how long they trained for, and the weapons handling? weapon

How big a part did the desert play in the film ? I can  imagine it's an all consuming environment...

How did the film come about ?

Can you say a little about what each of the three leads brought to the film and what it was like seeing them bringing  the characters to life from the script?

Was there any improv ?

Damien and Brian's characters wear very striking bandit like make up in the film, can you say a little about that without too many spoilers?

How much input did you have into the film score or did you just let award winning Dean Valentine do his thing ?

When the sum of the creative parts came together for this film - script, characters, photography, sound - was the outcome exactly as you expected Or did Tiger Raid take on a life of its own ?

How was the process of directing your first feature film?

What's it like letting go of your first film to the audience?

Some questions from fifi - who is out and about and unable to get on forum but texted me these!

 

what attracted them to Radio Luxembourg? Did that inspire them or were they already looking around for a good story?

Tiger Raid seems v character driven, can they tell us about Damien's casting as Paddy?

Did they ever consider not filming in Jordan?

How much time did the actors have to get to know each other before filming?

They filmed it chronologically in 19 days....I read somewhere! Financial constraints aside, how did that impact/benefit the filmmaking process and the final product?

I've gotta ask what it was like working with Damien....this is his fansite after all!! biggrin

And possibly the most important question all.....I'm so impatient to see this film - when will I get to see it in the UK?!??!!!

OK folks - I've just heard we have a little more time to get our questions in, the interview is 9.30 pm ET time (US) just before the final Tiger Raid screening at Tribeca.

That is 2.30 am here in the UK.. so can we say midnight UK time is the deadline - any questions posted here by that time I will definitely pass on!

Please post the exact question you would like asked - I'd hate to paraphrase or misinterpret the meaning for anyone, thanks!

Very cool and generous of them to offer this! 

Between you two you've just about covered what I'm most curious about. Particularly on the training, how long they got to know each other before hand, what was it like working with Damien, and when is the film coming out! (In case you need to narrow it down those get my vote)  But I would also add into the training and weapons handling question, about the authenticity of their outfits.

With your Dixon Baxi design background, how much of that played into the final look of the film, and was it hard to know where to stop with the final edit?

Tiger Raid is being described as a thriller, action, psycho-drama, road-buddy movie  - can any one genre define this film? If not how would you describe it?

Were you going for ultra realism with the story or are there more symbolic elements?

If you could only use three words to describe Tiger Raid what would they be?

I remember reading that Robert Sheehan was originally attached to the role of Paddy.  What was the audition process and first impressions of Damien in landing the role?  What did he bring to the role and story.  This could tie in with domino's question about his casting and fifi's question about what it was like to work with Damien.

How much did the desert location add to the authenticity and realism of the story compared to filming in a studio? Particularly in terms of what the authenticity of the location added to the experience for the actors in the way they created their roles.
