So 2016 was the Year of Damien with so many exciting treats for us to enjoy...so what do we think/dream/hope is in store for Damien in 2017?
I'd love to see Damien in a new TV series, particularly if he has a lead role or at least a really fascinating, challenging character for us to get our teeth into.
Haha!! Love them domino! Especially the second one....that's a really good look. Are there any suggestions that they're looking for a new Doctor? Is Peter Capaldi leaving - or is this just a general wish? I've already posted at length what I think about Damien as the Doctor....and my view hasn't changed. It's not that I don't think he'd be brilliant - of course he would - it's just not something I want to see him doing.
I would love to see another series of Crashing. And would equally like to see Jack back in a new series of Suspects. But I agree with rosie....a brand new TV series with a complex, multifaceted lead role would be very welcome...
As recent years have proved Damien seems to do one theatre production a year so hopefully he'll continue that in 2017. It's always a wonderful experience seeing Damien performing in the flesh.
Yes yes yes, absolutely need another series of Crashing (for every kind of reason) and Suspects - we want Jack back!
I would also love to see Damien continue his journey in the world of feature films - but only in central or generously sized ensemble role's (because I'm greedy like that).
And how about more poems and radio (more Poetry, Please!) Or another audio book! oh yes!
But definitely more theatre..how great would it be if Damien's Richard II dreams come true?
I want more Suspects and another central TV role that makes it to the US on an actual channel...but I'm selfish like that.
I feel like NML should open up more opportunities for him in all arena's. Eagerly awaiting a starring role, and something produced in the US. 2017 could be the year he becomes a household name.

Much as I'd like to see Damien do anything just now....if I could choose a part for him it would - I think - be a villian. In a tv series. A tv series allows time and space for a character to properly develop....and the opportinuty to watch it over and over....
He's very good at the conflicted/angsty parts....and does cocky really well - but he's done those parts a few times ....and we've had some comedy now too. But he hasn't had an opportunity to flash that wicked smile, the evil glint in his eye, or use that deliciously sardonic tone of voice properly since BH. A 50's gangster maybe.....?!

*says casually* I could go for that.
Who, am I kidding.
I'm dying to see him be wicked again. (I did feel he approached that as Foster in No Man's Land, but not properly unleashed)

We're covering the genres nicely already ... and the platforms... radio, TV, film... and there is bound to be a theatre role later in the year too! Basically, every year is Year Of The DaMo!
Great to see we are starting to hear about Damo projects. I like having them stacking up :)
Isn't it just! And me too!!! Especially as there was nothing at all to look forward to for a while after NML ended....
I love that Damien's work isn't resticted to just one genre, or platform. He's great on the radio...and there is something really quite special about the prospect of seeing him in a film - and I totally hope that he's back on stage sometime in the not too distant future, but I must admit that - right now - I'd really love to hear that he's got some more tv lined up.
Hmm..does that sound outrageously demanding?!?!! I just love seeing him on my tv!!!
King Lear: Minerva Theatre, Chichester Festival Theatre
I'm so excited as Sir Ian McKellen as King Lear: I booked my ticket for this back in March.
Sadly, I think it is all sold out now though...
But: theatre-news!!! (& if you're close enough to Chichester I have been to this lovely theatre before and there may be returns or, if it is good it'll surely transfer to London!)
Yes indeed, very exciting news that Damien will be back in theatre again this year, and appearing in King Lear as Edmund again - a long held dream for many of us DaMo fans!
Autumn is here and there are only a few months left to 2017. But in these next few months, Damien will be appearing in THEATRE (King Lear), TV (Gameface) and FILM (The Current War), Wow!
