Marcella needs to tell her family about Billy's drug problems - but she can't bear to dent her mother's faith in her golden boy. After contacting her hot-headed father and finding him to be as unhinged as usual, she reluctantly turns to Simon for help. And, after some soul searching - and typically unhelpful advice from her life coach - Marcella feels ready to admit her feelings to Jon.
Who knows what goes on in Marcella's wonderful mind Rosie, but I guess she's not made it a secret that she still struggles getting over her break up with Simon. He is my least favourite person right now. What a snake!
The scene in the therapist's office was the funniest in the whole ep for me, not just the Marcella Jon fantasy flash forward bit, but when she started singing "I get so emotional baby" LOLOLOLOL!
Loved it, just gets funnier. The Irish mammy, rival for the Jewish mammy.
Poor Marcella, I really felt for her as she tried (and failed) to break it to her mam that the beloved son, Billy/William, was still indulging in drugs. I can hardly wait to see the intervention!
The twist - just when I was starting to feel the satisfaction that Marcella and Jon could actually become an item, she goes and throws it all in the mix by sleeping with the ex! At least, that's what I presume happened after the door was slammed shut. I actually found I was yelling "No!!" at the screen.
The highlights were undoubtedly the loo roll thief and Jon's imagined reaction to Marcella confessing her feelings. Classic!
I can't believe next week is the last. There just has to be another series!
Ok, that's not what I expected. But I found the episode really funny, but not enough Damien. And his Jon is really a difficult guy. I had to laugh so much at the story with the division of the bill. Exactly the same thing happened to me. I had only one appetizer (I can not make a main course) and a Coke and then in the end the one who had the most, really says: then we can share. I was so baffled at the moment that I did it. But annoyed me afterwards. Shortly thereafter, the situation was again, but then I refused and paid my bill alone. It's almost scary how much I understand Marcella in her experiences. Although I also called in the end, please not Simon. But I can understand it. Jon is just too jumpy. Even if he apologized after being so rude, his tone did not go.
Haha i was yelling nooooo too Ellie! She had managed to keep herself on the right track with Simon, but he shouldn't have messed with her head like that and gone in for the kiss. I can identitfy with the whole ex is a D*** but you can't keep away thing.. the efforting involved and the triumph of staying away for a long time but then they suck you right back in...so not judging. But really didn't want her to do that, for her. And because don't we all want to her to get it on with Jon?! Will that happen now do we think?
Sana, Marcella is so very relatable, I really felt for her in that scene. You could be her inspiration for it happened a next time
Maybe the Alpaca farm will be part of Jon and Marcella's date? Or Billy's intervention?
I think I said this before but maybe the body doubles have been used in some of the driving scenes where we're not directly looking at Jon and Marcella, like when she reversed parked and hit the car.

Yes, I have seen. I just hope that the scene has not happened yet and that something wild happens with both of them

This episode was so frustrating. I wanted to shake Marcella. What was she thinking?
I don't know anyone that divides a bill evenly like that. I would not be cool with that if I didn't eat a steak and someone wanted me to pay for theirs.

That is the way we always divided the bill on work nights out. It was annoying when someone ordered the more expensive items but saved so much hassle. What would have been the alternative - individual bill? There were about twelve of us. But it was something we all decided at the beginning of the evening, not the end. We also tipped en bloc!
I've heard of it happening but I don't know anyone that does it. I think it's because I hang out with people who live paycheck to paycheck. If you have a table with a lot of people and can't split the check up, you do the math, or people that know they ordered the steak, chip in a little more so the person that ordered only an appetizer for dinner doesn't have to pay that much.
