Such an emotionally intense episode, oh Nathan, oh Hannah...
The Fi and Richie Hansen storyline is doing an amazing job of highlighting gaslighting, coercive and controlling behavious and that pernicious form of abuse.
You tell them Ruth!
At first I was a little deflated that Nina and Tyler seemed to backstep slightly from their moment in the photobooth... like the connection and understanding between them could all be forgotten... but that soon changed didn't it? There connection continues, there are undeniable similarities between the two of them and in this episode it's not just Tyler who can 'see' Nina, but also the other way around..
Tyler was in his element with his 360 reviews! My heart was pounding throughout Nina's 360 review... what a scene! You could think that she revealed her secret to save herself and deflect from her work performance - Tyler's head shaking response indicated that was how she played her hand. Or was that because she'd asked him to not tell Zander. But she seemed genuinely surprised by Zander's reaction so maybe she was genuinely just laying it on the line and telling the truth. Or all of the above.
Really glad Nina has take the first step, and confided again in Tyler... and hope this is a corner turning moment for her.
Tyler has always been perceptive about Nina, now we know that is also because they have something in common..
I really like the interaction between Nina and Tyler, they seem to be quite perceptive about each other.
I got the impression that Tyler's nod was " that lets you off the hook" - almost admiring.
I had thought Tyler may be reformed alcoholic, but thought he'd been drinking when we saw him in the restaurant and at the party so had dismissed that - how wrong can you be!
Hadn't heard about 360 reviews before, thank God they didn't have them in my day!
Oh my goodness, what a roller-coaster of emotions. I was almost in tears by the end. Another incredible performance from Nicola Walker.
More Tyler in this episode and the revealing of more of his secrets. I'm glad that Nina feels that she can go to him for help and that Tyler seems to want to support her. The 360 scene was well played - perhaps Nina felt she had nothing to lose by coming clean. Also it was a good way for Nina to know whether Tyler had kept her secret from Zander so she knew she could trust him. It's pretty brave of Nina to share so much with someone who could ultimately recommend that she loses her job.

Damien awesomesauce aside, on top of the performances, most notably Annabel Scholey and Nicole Walker, the layers and possibilities of meaning is what I am loving most about this series of The Split.
Not just with Nina and Tyler...
But there is certainly a lot going on in this scene!
Kinda hard to ignore though, especially as marriage is on the horizon as well!
The chemistry between them is major though... and that is hard to ignore.
I am trying to work out if I feel their connection is anything more than two people who really get each other...that share similarities, that recognise themselves in the other person (reflections again!) and have find that connection unexpectedly in the stressful context they are both in? Again with the writing there is so much intrigue and suspense!
Good to know there are forums out there that are still alive!
So... is everyone shipping them as a couple? I mean as I said in my last post.. There is obvious chemistry, but there is the small matter of Tyler being engaged to Zander and that he's gay! Fascinating writing ...I can't say it enough how clever the storyline is!
