Really enjoyed this, but didn't like Dylan's new girlfriend in the short clip we saw of her, however I'm sure she'll improve over time. She seemed a bit young - in the sense of maturity rather than age. I think Dylan has gone for her as being the opposite of Erin.
I must say I found Jake's pursuit of Erin in season one a bit creepy, almost at stalking level. They're another couple I can't see working out.
Lots would like to see Bonnie and Erin get together, as they seem obviously the main leads i think this may well be on the cards but could well be completely wrong.
Really looking forward to the rest of the series!

Thanks for sharing your thoughts and voting in the poll Ellie, looks like you and I both thought episode 1 was excellent!
There's new Dylan and Erin dynamic introduced in this episode... after the cliffhangers at the end of series 1, I did wonder where their relationship would be at in series 2. But, honestly couldn't believe she would be with Jake! She wanted more and Dylan had let her down so many times.. but Jake? I'm with you Ellie, he came across a tiny bit stalkery in series 1. It also felt so wrong seeing Dylan with someone else.. anyone else. But that all adds to the complexity and investment in the story and characters.
There was also a bit of a role reversal, Dylan at college studying for a trade, Erin joining the gang in their capers, I was glad to see her taking more of a leading role in that and it was one of the things I hoped for this series!
I was glad to see Tyler still very much in Dylan's life. The scene where he ans Erin are in the kitchen talking.. it's obvious to see they still have feelings for each other and are jealous of the other new relationships.. but trying to be grown ups about it.
Dylan is still easily influenced and pulled into the first caper at the circus - and in the process protective of Erin. The whole lion stealing thing was bonkers and silly in such a fun and escapist way, underpinned by all the other elements of the story, and the deeper themes.
The Dylan, Erin, Vinnie triangle is in this episode 2, Vinnie supports Erin in her decisions.. there is an obvious vibe there.
Vinnie spending affectionate time with Tyler is just adorable and warm - bringing moments of gladness for Vinnie in the middle of all his pain.
Joe Gilgun is a master of physical comedy as well as being the creative force and being an amazing actor. He is one of those people who can make you laugh and cry in the same moment.
Dominic West in the emotional support dog scene just had me in stitches! but at the same time, huge sadness in that scene as Vinnie struggles.
All the other characters were more vibrant, Tommo is hysterical!
I've only watched the fist episode so far. It was kind of jarring to see the apparent role reversal between Dylan and Erin and them being friends. It seems like Dylan is distancing himself from the antics and Erin is thrill seeking and missing her old life that she use to protest against, now that she's with a more presumably stable person. I enjoyed it but it was also kind of painful. I'm sure that's is intentional

So glad you watched RJ! Thank you for sharing your reactions and voting in the poll!
You're right, the new Dylan and Erin was jarring, and felt all wrong on so many levels - them not being together, Erin being with Jake (!!), Dylan being with Sara (!!!) Dylan not being a full time Dad to Tyler... good drama though!
To be fair, Dylan didn't stay away from the latest criminal masterplan for long. Loved that bit in the pub (loved seeing Dylan behind the bar again!) where they are trying to persuade Mr Popov the clown (played by the brilliant JT) to be their circus scam to be their inside man, with all kinds of incentives (!!!!), but he wasn't interested. Then Dylan, who a minute before was adamant he was not getting involved, stepped in as he was leaving and said "So go on then, name your price" and effectively closed the deal!
