Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, domino and everyone.
What a weird Christmas.
I'm in a bubble with my daughter and son-in-law. On Christmas day we drove to my son's to exchange greetings (we're in the same area and therefore tier - tier 3). We stood outside their fence, they stayed on the inside. All of us wearing masks, freezing cold. No hugging. Presents in bags so the bag could just be handed over. Everything wrapped at the beginning of December and the wrapping sprayed with disinfectant to be on the safe side. We only stayed about 20 minutes but at least it was face to face. We all cried. With one thing and another I haven't seen them in person for a year - video calls are nice but no substitute for the real thing.
Video called my daughter in Yorkshire, who was upset because her cat had just laid down and died on Christmas morning.
Online mass was lovely, the choir were great. I do hope they keep on doing this when this virus is under control, marvellous for those of us who have problems getting to church.
