Very welcome Ellie, it was only by chance I saw them!

The Irish Embassy said they will be sharing recordings soon, we will have to keep our eyes peeled!

Damien's Bloomsday readings, in full!

curtains

Ulysses, James Joyce, extract (13.03 -17.03)

Ulysses, James Joyce, extract(48.39-52.39)

Beacons and Bealtaine, Seamus Heaney (58.55-1.00.20)

What captivating performances

Very impressed with his Ulysses readings, I struggled to get through when we studied it at university!

Thank you, domino, for the extracts.

Ulysses isn't my favourite book by a long way (much prefer Dubliners) but I really enjoyed Damien's readings. I do wish he would do soom book narration for Audible - there are so many books I would have bought if I liked the narration, but Damien is good at all the voices, female as well as male.

Loved his Seamus Heaney, so lyrical.

On a side note, when I worked in the library a woman came in quite concerned that her 14 year old son wanted to read Ulysses - he needed her to check it out as he couldn't get a book from the adult section. I suggested she did what he asked and said it was boring and he probably wouldn't manage padt page 10. She came (with her son) a week later to return the book. She said she'd been quite worried as he read as far as page 20! Her son reckoned his mam was really cool for getting the book out for him. Apparently he only read to page 20 as he was determined to read past page 10 🤣
