Damien played the male lead, the angst ridden Giovanni, in 'Tis Pity She's A Whore', a production of the powerful, tragie and controversial John Ford play (first published 1633).
yes, the quote is from the WYP on Youtube, in the description for the TPSAW trailer. I didn't see the comments on youtube, but think they must have been pretty extreme!
Ironic in a way to decontextualize Damien as Giovanni in this, considering the actual subject matter of the play..which is still considered one of the most controversial in english literature . Sorry i feel like a killjoy saying that!
lol, domino! The thing is, this trailer on it's own has no context - it's just a rather wonderful piece of short film in it's own right. And I have no problem enjoying it as such! It's an interesting way to trailer the play.....

I concur. If they choose to make a trailer like this, I really can't be held responsible for my actions.
I do wonder how many people went to see this on the expectation of it just being a play about two young people getting "hot and heavy" and it's just so very very not!
Lol! I meant the above to be humorous, while still being reverent to the play
Indeed, an understandable reaction to an out of context trailer, but the play remains one of the most controversial, on a taboo subject matter, perhaps adding to the feeling that it may be inappropriate to leave the comments up?
The poster for this production of the play (attached) caused mega controversy for WYP, perhaps they are sensitive.
As I was late to everything it seems, I'm missing the ability to see the trailer video. I had seen when I originally found this site but now it's no longer available. Bummer. Any idea if it will turn up again?
Hi Susan, I have merged your question with our existing topic on the 'Tis Pity trailer, (it can be confusing to have lots of discussions in different places on the same thing). sadly the trailer has been removed from Youtube, as have the other 'Tis Pity videos we had on the forum.
If anyone has found another copy please do jump in!
Thank you for the info. I'm a bit techno challenged so thought it was operator error on my part. Such a shame we can no longer see. I watched and re-watched way too many times. It was a captivating trailer. Here's hoping someone finds it!!!
