I hope Time takes a chill pill then UJ because your thoughts here have me intrigued.
OKAY....... Who remembers ALL the items on HAL'S LIST? I for one would like to see the past origins of all of them, and future challenges of each of them , in series 5!1
I'd certainly like to see flashbacks with young Leo setting them. He was set free by his captor and forced to go on the run with him. Hell of a way to start a friendship.

There should be a Kia-ora episode. As soon as the writers come up with something that will justify Pearl and Leo's reaction to the mere mention of kia-ora, then we should be in for a treat.
It's such a small list but encompasses so much.

Yes that is it exactly UJ! It has to be more than become inebriated [sp?] on the old Kia-Ora! Tom mentions Kia-Ora in episode 7 as well, in a way that implies Hal gets drunk when he drinks it - something like "ay up you been on the kia-ora?" Pears reaction especially makes you wonder what he got up to while on the kia ora and at this point we should pay tribute to Miss_Lilli's video:
Yes I do enjoy the mystery of it! I'm thinking that the whole Kia-Ora thing might be something that they never intend to explain to us. But of course it would be awesome to see! Though they did kinda tell us about the whole budgie thing with that letter, but I would still like to see it played out(which would mean more Leo and Pearl!)!!

@Sami, yeah it wouldn't be the end of the world to leave us to our imaginations to elaborate on those aspects of Hal!! @Kayla, the Tom and Hal Bromance one is not on our list yet, the others are i think! Depends what you mean by that, I would love to see more comedy with those too, and more rollercoastering in their friendship but maybe things will get a bit more dark and serious in these new episodes....Tom is growing up at a first rate too so maybe he is going to be more wise and worldly...
Hal going bad present day is not something I am actually averse to..Hal losing control, would be an adrenalin rush to watch as well as tortuously sad but it would make intoxicating viewing! )(or is that just me? )as long as he is rescuable or redeems himself somehow, there was not an awful lot of horror in series 4, hoping for more of that somehow..more vampire AND werewolf action!
I was going to say there'll be plenty of opportunities as Hal is forced out into the world ... But that depends how the next season kicks off. Hal was happy in his cage in Southend. He was forced into the world because bills had to be paid. That led to meeting Alex and just by being seen with her got her targeted and murdered. Dry and poor, Hal might be keeping himself out back doing the cooking while Tom is the face of the caf. And hiding in his room with his dominoes, while Alex and Tom watch Antique Roadshow without him. Although Alex will probably encourage Tom to get some DVDs.
Of course, something will force him back into the world - although becoming a crazy hermit is part of being human too. Alex might insist, what with her body missing, the men in grey, having to really come to terms with her own immortality and her family is probably looking for her. She's going to demand some help. I wonder what Tom's stance will be. He encouraged Hal to get out more, he fixed up that first date at the museum, but I wonder if he might reconsider Leo's original plan of keeping Hal out of the world, to keep Hal and the world safe. Aw! Mitchell insisted that if they were going to be in the world they really had to live in it, and be human. That didn't work out for him ... I'm so looking forward to see how the story goes!

Yea, I am actually really hoping for a mix of getting back to that domestic scenario of a vampire, werewolf and a ghost and those daily dynamics that are the core of the original Being Human as well as all the epic bigger storylines - and Hal's character offers the oportunity for both,
But I really came in this topic to say..... WE NEED TO SEE HAL'S SHIELD! HIS RED ONE!!!!
I was catching up on the iplayer with my radio 4 shows when I remembered Radio 4 was something Hal and I shared (it's the only thing we do have in common). I was enjoying the latest installment of Just A Minute so it struck me that what with the legendary and utterly lovely Nicholas Parsons being old enough to be an Old One ... Or some fiend has just turned Nicholas so now his career can go on even longer ... The fiend could even be Hal, during a slip. He got a bit fangirly around Nicholas and things went too far. The episode could write itself.

Random but strangely intriguing UJ....And Nicolas Parsons could in fact play a pretty chilling vampire though he has also proven himself to have a razor sharp wit on occasion!
Lol..the idea of Hal getting a"bit fangirly" is too hilarious!
Been thinking a lot lately about what I'd like to see in series 5, but I must admit that I've been struggling to get past that chair. I really will be dissapointed if the story has moved on too far between series. Haven't given much thought to Hal in a tutu......but could be fun!
Agreed, fifi. I don't always care for how time passes in TV shows. Just because it's been a year doesn't mean it has to be a year later, or if a show takes up the best part of a year being broadcast it should take up a year in story time. Sometimes it messes with the actual story. I'd like to see Hal deal with his slip and Alex deal with being dead rather than it's all done and dusted and now it's business as usual. But I don't recall Being Human jumping ahead that far in between series. And if they have, it's not really noticeable. I don't feel like I've missed something.

HalGal I cannot imagine what you mean....the black and white pic is a result of some random google searching....is it really him??!?!
Absolutely fifi and UJ, I too am hoping we get to see some of Hal's chair detox and rehab, but there only being 6 episodes in series 5 it may have to be very punchy and pacey...but that is the specialty of BH writing, saturated and compactly filled to brimming with epicness, hopefully we will have it all.... muahahahhaha!
Lol, I was just looking back at how the 'Hal in a tutu' notion came about and I'm holding my hand up to it being just some random fan whim after discovering Damien had dancing talent..though joking aside I would prefer to see him in an argentine tango hold and costume.
I know! its quite the discovery! Surprised more peeps aren't raving about it! there is obviously someone from the past who really looked like Damien... sorry I mean Lord Harry captured in one of his.....good? or bad? spells....
