Really enjoyed the first episode of The Aliens with Michael Socha. It had a huge write-up in the Metro, and Michael was interviewed, too.

Spent the last two days bingeing on season two of Daredevil and it was just as good, if not better than season one. Won't spoil it but Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle is absolutely outstanding.

I can't say I have a favourite Tv actor! Apart from Damien.
But if he counts as an actor I've had an admiration for Rik Mayall since I decided to go back and watch all my "Bottom" DVD's ...

So depending on what form of comedy you're into id suggest Bottom ;) rather crude.
Sausages, I haven't watched TV properly in quiet some time. Everything is online these days Haha.
But I suppose the show "utopia" was quite funky. And recently caught up with another show called "Saving Hope" with Michael Shanks in! (If anyone is a stargate SG-1 fan you'll love abit of Mr. Shanks.)

I'm currently addicted to a show by the name of 'Scorpion', it airs on ITV2 and the channel has been repeating the second season week day mornings. I caught the first season on Netflix, watched the first episode out of curiosity and ended up roaring through the first season in three days. It's about a group of geniuses who solve seemingly insurmountable problems through their various strengths and the lead role of Walter O'Brien (based on a real life person) is played by British actor, Elyes Gabel. He used to play Guppy in Casualty several years ago apparently (never watched it then) and the character absolutely fascinates me. It's the first time since Being Human that i've been drawn back to writing. It's kind of like McGyver crossed with the A Team and a lot of fun.

Also loving The Musketeers and i'm gutted this is the final season. It's such a romp and always entertaining and I LOVE those Musketeer boys.

I've also recorded the first couple of episodes of Mr Robot, i've heard it's very very good.

It sounds like I need to check 'Scorpion' out, Ruby.  

We just binge watched 'Stranger Things' on Netflix last weekend.  It's a sci-fi horror show a la Stephen King with a dash of Stephen Spielberg.  The main characters are a bunch of kids and they were really good. The big name is Winona Ryder.  The sound track was very 80's nostalgic. It was enjoyable. 

Tonight we started 'Mr. Robot' on Amazon.  It's about a computer hacker an Anonymous type group.  It didn't sound like something that I would enjoy but it has turned out to be fantastic.  Christian Slater is in it, but he isn't the main character. 

I recommend both shows.

I can only hope the rest of them are as good but if you have 20 minutes to spare the first monologue in the Queers series is well worth a look. Ben Whishaw is phenomenal and the writing is the quality you'd expect from Mark Gatiss: here (sorry international folk, it's BBC and region-restricted).

I've caught a few of the episodes, as you say, quality, Maghat. Sorry you had trouble with editing the link.

I'm mostly watching The Leftovers and Lost, anything Damon Lindelof touches gets my vote!

The Man on the Platform was spectacular, Maghat. I've seen a few of the other monologues in this series but that one was a real stand out. The combination of Mark Gattiss' writing and Ben Wishaw's performance was first class.

I've also been watching Man in an Orange Shirt which is very good too.

The Handmaid's Tale was very bleak but a great watch. Elisabeth Moss is exceptional.

I don't watch anything actually on TV but we have our various methods.  In the last couple of months we have caught up on The Americans, Santa Clarita Diet, and Shetland.  This weekend I binge watched Series 3 of Hinterland.  We are also currently watching Orphan Black, Dark Matter, American Gods, and iZombie.  Oh we are also watching Fortitude.

Rosie, The Handmaids Tale is stunning TV, bleak, provacative, magnetising. Feels slightly odd watching one of the novels I studies in depth for my degree specialism in feminist dystopian fiction, but it is a relief the TV series does it credit.

Ellie - Twin Peaks! I Know! How cool that it is back! I am saving it for now and look forward to a total immersion binge.

Ellie and Jane, I'm with you on American Gods, also watching series 2 of Preacher, which takes more to get into but it is good. So happy I have Amazon Prime!

So you reckon American Gods is good? I adore the novel so I've been slightly leery of watching it!

I suspect I'm one of the few who failed to get sucked in by The Handmaid's Tale. I watched the first episode and somehow just failed to go back for more. It may be a problem with commercial TV, having it broken up into those 15-20 minute chunks drives me absolutely insane. Maybe I'll look out for it as a DVD release or something. Again, I love the novel, Atwood can do no wrong for me!

Love American Gods, it's slightly different from the novel but it's a while since I read it so it didn't bother me. However, my eldest made the mistake of re-reading just before she started watching the series so noticed every little difference. The cast are good, for once I can't complain about any of them! Shadow in particular is excellent.

I stopped watching Preacher, the violence was just too much for me. Once again, excellent cast - although Joe Gilgin's Irish accent 'wandered' a bit at first, he really should have talked to Ruth Negga. Oddly enough, I have no problem with the violence in the graphic novels, it's just different on screen.

I enjoyed Lucifer, although I just can't take to Tom Ellis in the role. I was surprised, because I was looking forward to seeing him but it just doesn't gel for me. I'm not keen on the actress playing Chloe, either. But Maze, Linda, Amenadiel and Charlotte are just terrific.

Twin Peaks:the Return is the one thing I will not miss. Not only do I watch it every week I'm recording it so I can watch it en bloc when it's finished and know if my theories hang together. I guess it depends on how much of a David Lynch fan you are as to how much you enjoy it. The cast are all good but Kyle MacLachlan is truly amazing.

I've recorded the Handmaid's Tale but haven't seen it yet. I think it's one of those I might hate if it deviates from the book too much, but Domino's comments give me hope.

I'm really looking forward to the next Jessica Jones, whenever that finally comes back on to our screens.

The Loch was good, and Ekaterina was light relief on either Prime or Netflix, I forget which one.

Haven't started watching GoT yet, I'm recording it to binge watch.

These are really a few good suggestions from you. Since I also like to read, I have already taken a few tips.

I just watch the 6th season of The Walking Dead. I did not want to see it (is not mine with zombies and so), but a girlfriend persuaded me and from the 3rd season I could not stop. Unfortunately, I had to look alone, my husband did not want to take a look. And that is a little difficult since I do not have so many free time. Together we also watched Lucifer. And from tomorrow, the second season comes in German. I also started to watch Doctor Who (in case Damien had become the new Doctor) and I find it very funny and keep watching. I love David Tennant in this role.

I imagine that is annoying for your eldest, Ellie.  I also read American Gods but I don't remember any of the details.  Not one.  I remember the premise and that's about it. 

I'm enjoying the show so far and like the cast.

 I enjoyed watching the 'Hunger Games' and my grandson said the books were good, so I decided to read them. I love the books, but now everytime I watch the film all I can think of is the main characters are wrong, wrong,  wrong! Acting good, but terrible miscasting.

There's nothing more pleasing when a film or TV show really captures a much loved book but nothing worse than having favourite books ruined by a poor adaptation.

Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children was a great book but although the film was mostly well cast (Asa Butterfield was excellent as Jake) the story was changed so much it spoilt the film for me as I kept noticing where the plot strayed too far. I'm watching Outlander at the moment and it seems to be keeping fairly close to the story and how I had imagined it in my head.

It's been too long since posting in this topic, and I've watched so many great things.

But, I've just signed up for a free month's trial with Netflix and binged on Stranger Things, to see what everyone is raving on about, and because it is my kind of thing. And it didn't disappoint! Love the whole retro vibe and it's utterly magnetic viewing with characters you become invested in quickly. It's never easy to watch children suffering though, even if it is sci-fi fantasy and not possible in reality, some of that I found hard to watch. But Eleven is an amazing character and Millie Bobby Brown is superb in the role. All of the younger actors are outstanding.

Next binge was Black Mirror. HOW DID I NOT DISCOVER THIS SOONER. Charlie Brooker you are my spirit animal. SO SO SO SO GOOD. Dystopian sci-fi that is so near to current reality that it's imaginable. Challenging, powerful, intelligent, very very dark. The ep with Lenora Crichlow I had to watch in 4 parts as it was A LOT. But oh.. this is some of the best visual fiction I've ever seen. Also this is why I need GameFace.. perfect antedote to the darkness of this. Impossible not to watch though!
