Agreed- and cannot help but wonder what that 'free content' is apart from wikipedia and Imdb (which would no fill a book!) This author has several books such as these for sale apparently....
Yes, it is very cool there would be a book on Damien as an actor..what is strange is the content.....most stuff, interviews, articles, etc...is not 'freely available'....so apart from wikipedia, i am curious as to where it has been lifted from..and how that can then be used for commercial gain? and the price tag is nothing short if exploitative...

Yeah, it's freely available as in you can find it all by googling, you don't have to pay to read it, but I agree, not 'free to copy into a book and sell for huge profit'.
I wonder if this is something that should be brought to the attention of more authoritative persons, if you catch my drift... given what's happened with other content recently. ;)

exactly.. for example..any original content written on damienolony.org or here for that matter, is copyright to us. BUT It seems unliely that this book and others like it could have got this far if it was breaching copyrights?

Looking at the site quickly, it appears to be one of those places where you can set up your own shop and sell whatever you want, so they may not even be aware of what the content is. But the price is ridiculous, and just the fact it's being sold in this way makes me suspicious, if it was legitimate, they'd sell it through proper channels.
The 'editor' of the book has a very prolific and bizarre (and potentially lucritive at those prices!) catalogue: http://www.alibris.co.uk/search/books/author/Sundara%2C%20Oscar%2C%20Editor
I've never even heard of wikipedia content books. I guess you learn something new every day... Seriously tho. It really is expensive even for something like that. Scam?
You would think so SteelMoth and Lilli...but these kind of books are also available on Amazon, with only wikipedia content. so I doubt that they are illegal, which is why I am scratching my head! ? Wikipedia content has a Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 3.0 Unported License, which means it can be shared and distributedd, but my question wirh a maine book is as yet there is very little on his wikipedia page (a fact Sattyrn and I were bemoaning not long ago) his imdb page is even smaller (and not copyright free) so what are these 'free sources'onthe net?
after recent events when we were asked to remove some images, i would not feel inclined to allow anyone to share any content from the forum or the fansite without permission- not that it would be from here necessarily or at all, but websites with articles and interviews have even more strictly controlled content!
I just looked at it too and it all seems very "fishy". Maybe if it was an awesome picture book since printer ink is somewhat expensive... Ehehehe. The price of it though is outragous and I did not see a cover for this "book" which makes me wonder even more... I don't see how people can even think about doing this, legally or not. It's just CRAZY to me... Maybe they should give Damien a few more years to do more fabulous things to "WOW" us and then write a book... Or maybe this could be one of those books on Hal's bookshelf! Ehehehe
