It's brilliant that he's committed to this. I know that regular visits can be hard to do but the fact that he is and keeps making the appointments is wonderful. Long may it continue! As i've said often enough, my daughter's life was saved by a donor such as him. There is someone in this country who almost 13 years ago kept their appointment to donate and saved my child's life. It blows my mind and humbles me at the same time.
Just a little note to all the people who post here and on twitter, about not being able to give blood.
If you cannot be a blood donor It doesn't not mean you cannot still help! There are ways those of us who cannot donate, for whatever the reason, can still help! By encouraging friends and family, at work, at school, by raising awareness around the issue and by giving info! So let's get positive about this, find your local and national blood donation centres, get leaflets, get involved, spread the word online and become part of the campaign!
Since July 2012, Damien has been making donations and encouraging others to ‘Save a life, give blood’. Today he made his sixth blood donation, sharing photos ‘live’ onhis Twitter Page:
Over the past 2 years, Damien has raised awareness of the importance of blood donation with his ongoing twitter campaign, given aninterview in NHS Donor Magazineandrecruited blood donorswith a picture of him as Being Human character, over 500 year old vampire Hal saying, “I’m thirsty”, during National Blood week last year.
He has also inspired many fans to begin giving blood, pledging to Re-Tweet anyone who sends him their own post-donation photo on Twitter.
Donating blood really does save lives. If you are generally healthy, over 17 and want to do something that takes little of your time but truly makes a difference, don’t hesitate, take action today. Not only will you be doing something amazing, but you will also be helping Damien’s own campaign for increasing blood donations and if you send your photo to him on twitter, you are guaranteed a Re-Tweet.

I think it's my 5th donation - a milestone! I actually recieved my donor card after my 5th appointment....which is a little embarrasing as I'd only managed 2 donations at that point I think! But I'm pretty sure that this was my 9th appointment, and my 5th donation - which is also pretty cool, because I think I've finally managed to make more donations than I've failed to....if that makes sense?! I've also managed to make 3 donations in a row...which is a first too! So all in all I'm feeling pretty happy with myself.....
Fifi that's fantastic! Well done! I know like me you see this as a celebration of your own health as well as a gift to people that really need it.
Ironically, I have an appointment to donate tomorrow and just realize I haven't been taking my vitamins. Gonna tank up on healthy stuff today and hope I don't get turned away tomorrow!

Good luck for tomorrow whimsy. We seem to be in synch!
And cake and coffee will do nicely, domino. Although it always gives me great pleasure to indulge in an orange club when I donate.....it's like they've bought them specially for me!
