great info Matty, that will be helpful to other members seeing the play! I hope the 3 of you going to the one with the post show talk get to meet up, and that Damien is present at the talk!
Not long now til you go on the 15th Laura!
I know! I'm getting nervous/excited/apprehensive! Brookesey & Trevor are hoping to come too, but it all depends on how their daughter is.
this. must. happen. ! are there any tickets left though? they had nearly sold out when i bought yours!

There are 2 podcasts Su, the first is with the playwright Anders Lustgarten, the second with the cast (not Damien unfortunately) they don't talk about the story of the play itself, Anders talks a little about his background in activism and also his 'bigger picture' view of 'politics' and the cast one is a discussion on the sans decor approach and a few other bits, they are about 15 - 20 mins i think!
Really enjoyed both of these podcasts. The cast/director one gives a fascinating insight into the process of how a production comes together and what insight they think the play offers.
Saw Damien's tweet earlier about rehursals moving to the Royal Court tomorrow. And almost did a little dance......not long now....
Laura - you must be so excited about Friday. Can't wait to hear about it!

Hi all. I'm still recovering from my lovely evening yesterday seeing If You Don't Let Us Dream, with Brookesey & Trevor Blackman and fabulous to meet Damien at the Royal Court Stage Door (which is very easy to find, you practically see it from the front of the theatre. The play was great and very thought-provoking. But be warned. Lots of swearing, and Damien uses the C & F words alot. He plays a Irish workkman, Jason, a racist cockney and Ray, an Irish revolutionist. Damien was great in it, really versatile characters. Meera Syal was wonderful (she was on the same tube home as me & I told her I was going to the post-talk show on the 5th March as well and she was pleased). Another character I really liked was Ryan, played by Damien's new Twitter buddy Danny Kendrick. The play finished just after 9. Be warned. There is no interval. 95 minutes straight, so go to the loo before hand! We went backstage and discovered that the dressing room was directly above it, so could see the cast (and Damien) sitting down & chatting. The rest of the cast came down and looked at us waiting. There were about 6 of us. I wonder what they thought of us! We said Hello and said we loved the show. Damien came out last, saw us and smiled. He was as charming, friendly & gracious as always, remembered us (I don't why I keep saying that now, but it still amazes me how he still knows our names - even Trevor's!). We gave him our gifts. Brookesey gave him chocs & coffee. We're not coffee experts, but Damien said he had just run out and gave a thumbs up to the brand she had. I think if you want to get Damien a stage door present, you can't go too wrong with coffee. You can always look at his tweets to see what he likes, I think he's pictured 2 or 3 of his faves. We had a nice chat about stuff, Being Human, costumes (he's kept them all apart from his favourite tweed one which he could not keep for some reason), his characters in the play (asked me what I thought about the racist character he portrays), Twitter, coffee & the BH Fans. He was looking good and healthy & I'm loving his longer hair & Leather Pilot jacket (very snuggly) :D He left soon after as there was a cast meeting. It was only about 9. 40, so we decided to have a drink in the Royal Court bar. It's lovely in there. Nice food and good priced drinks. I had strawberry & Lime cider! I now never want a mere apple or pear one again! While we were at the bar, Damien came down! We said hello, but kept our cool as he was chatting to lots of people including the other actors and their friends. We left before he did and I gave him a squeeze and said goodbye. #Thuds & #Swoons galore
The 2 pics are from my programme which is also a script of the play - a bargain at £3, but no nice photos of the cast. The first one is Damien's signature and the second one is from the cast list. poor Damien just has 3 lines, while the rest of the cast has paragraphs!

Yay! Laura and Brookesey had an amazing time last night, and the play sounds interesting ang intense, we now have names forDamien's 3 characters but I'll leave it for them to tell us all, hopefully soon! and there are pics!
I no, hope it is one of those over and done with quickly things Rougesang and you can still see tonight's performance. healing vibes
thank you for your write up of your adventure last night, I am glad you had such a great time and met Damien at the stage door too!!
I should imagine you are still floating on the waves of the Molony effect today, so well done in eve being able to remain coherent yesterday.
Good to hear that Damien gets to flex his acting muscles with three characters, very different from each other and roles he has played before. playing a racist cockney must have been a real challenge, and to watch that as well? How did that work? if you can say without giving away spoilers, was it a number of sketches? and costume changes off stage? were there costumes? we know it was sans decor so i have been intrigued about this from the start. It sounds as if it was not a long play, but very intense?
thank you for giving Damien the cards from the forum, how was that part? it sounds like he received lots of lovely things - he is spoilt by us fans! lol!
wow he kept all his costumes except the tweed suit? lucky man! he got his domino too as mentioned on the Q&A on the Being Human blog. wonder if they have plans for the tweed suit.....
It must have been wonderful meeting the other cast members too, Meera Syal is an actor I admire, I was so excited to hear that Damien was going to be appearing in the same play.
Lovely autograph , well thank goodness he had more than 3 lines in the play!
So today my nan told me that she is taking me to Damien's new play on the 9th of march! as a very very early birthday pressie!!! And i have waited over a year for the chance to see Damien in person and it's finnaly happening! i am so happy i can barly talk! i plan to get him a nice posh coffee :3 because he likes coffee so much! and my nan is a card maker who will be making him a card :) and as the forum is a lovely place and you are all so lovely! i wanted to know if any one wanted a message put into the card that i'm giving to Damien :) if so try to keep it short because i have people on twitter and facebook who have messages too :D i will try to fit them all in :') and if any one else is going on the 9th?? please tell me ^_^ much love a very fangirling girl! xx
