TV is still proving the most popular choice in the poll....and it has to be said...It would be criminal (and highly surprising!) not to see Damien's acting skills on the tv screen again! Let's hope it is sooner rather than later
Once again, I'm voting all of the above. But I think television is really best for everyone. But there's no rule that says he only has to do one, right?
Still haven't voted.....still genuinely can't decide! Although obviously from our point of view the next thing will be the radio.....and even that feels like an age away. But I'm convincing myself more and more that all of those casting directors for the BBC wouldn't just let him slip through their fingers (!...lol)
Hi Buffieroupie! Agreed, obviously we all want to see Damien in all these area and more for the future! He has already worked in all and has that undeniable talent that will ensure his acting star just keeps on rising!
The poll is just for fun, and to see what area we the fans most want him to go into in the immediate future, his next role!
I would be so surprised fifi, and they would be losing out on a good thing if all casting directors were not ringing Damiens agents phone off the hook right now. We may be biased, but so many of the Being Human reviews and media singled Damien out for his performances - we are not the only people to have noticed his talent!
I expect some of you go onto IMDb. I had a look at it yesterday and there is a thread on Damien's page (forum) saying just what we think - he should be hired immediately!
For the love of God, I'm dying here. He's an amazing talent and I know he'll go far, but sooner would be better. Hire him in a movie or another tv-series so I can watch him here in Sweden too.
I have not visited IMDB for a while Pearl, although I have contributed a little to some of the info and discussions on Damien's page. I am obviously biased, but feel our forum is a far greater resource for info on Damien and meeting his fans!
So, I've finally cast my vote....for tv. But it would need to be something worthy of his talent - not just any tv. And, quite honestly, I find most tv a bit disappointing.
Agreed fifi...I was just saying in another topic, Damien really is leading man material, so as much as seeing him on any TV would be amazing, a proper full on role would be most in alignment with his talent. Just saying!
well done for finally voting!
Oh and....yeah, but that doesn't mean we don't want him to be on the radio AS WELL! !
*Views on everything after re reading this hole topic*
Radio: Although no one has voted for it. If he did some radio between everything. That would be nice. As he does have a very nice reading voice. And in general a voice i would happily listen to!
Theater: He clearly loves theater. And mentioned to me that he would love to work in the globe theater! So you never know what he might have up his sleeve! And it's nice being able to meet him and so on so on but not ever one has that ability! or money.
Television: It would be fantastic to get him back on TV very soon. As yes, we can all watch it :) And it doesn't cost any of us any more than a TV license and to pay the electric ;)
Film: I guess it's just me. Although he is a fantastic actor and still growing, i personally don't think he is ready to take on a leading role in a film. TV leading role is different. Doesn't seem as huge and major. But i don't think he's ready for film even if i am still rooting. DAMO FOR BOND. and forever will ;D
My over all look on this is; no matter what he decides to do. We as fans will be there to support him and enjoy watching, listening, being there or just reading on the internet what he is doing! :) Sorry for the long post. . .

Kayla - yes, yes, and yes to radio, theatre and tv.......but no, no to film!! Must admit that I really wounldn't be happy to think of him being cast as James Bond.....yet, but Damien is far more capable than a lot of established film actors of taking a lead role......
Television! I still stand by the fact that a spin off based on Hal's life in the 50's would go down really well. His misadventures with Pearl and Leo... and not to mention his times with Cutler. We could also see more of Ivan and Daisy. I adored Ivan.
I have to agree with Kayla on this about film. Yes, it would be nice to see him in a film at some point (and I'm sure we will! ), but personally I think he's not quite ready for it. Portraying Hal was his first major leading TV role (please correct me if I'm wrong!) and I think it would be good to see him in more leading roles in good quality TV first.
Oh I agree with everything else you said Kayla about TV, radio and theatre!

Can't wait to see where Damien actually does appear next, could it be TV ? Could it be theatre before we see his next tv appearance? ( excluding the radio drama on 3 June he has a lead role in doesn't count, because we know about it )
On the assumption that Ripper Street is just a guest role (sure someone posted about that on FB or Twitter yesterday...) then he's got a big gap opening up, so hopefully there's something in the pipeline to fill that gap - or maybe it's just Strictly Come Dancing in the Autumn!!?!?! *wishful thinking*
Not sure if this is the right place to put this (I thought about starting a new topic but not sure if I should)
This is going to sound funny, but I have a feeling that Damien is going to go for Star Wars. I don't know if he'll get it, but all the signs are pointing to the possibility of him at least auditioning for it. he's in London (soho coffee tweet), his name has been taken off the Dr. Who betting list, and he's just recently followed 'bad robot' (JJ Abram's production company) and just today he followed someone who'd spent the day with JJ Abrams. There was an "unconfirmed" casting leak today of several character descriptions which included this one:
"... a late twenty-something male who is “fit, handsome and confident.”
sounds dead on to me. And of course he said in that interview for If You Don't Let Us Dream that he'd been in Australia when Episode III was being filmed and was begging to get on set.
I suck at guessing things, but this is the funny thing. A couple weeks ago I had a dream that Damien had come on Twitter apologizing for being silent for so long and had conversations with us fans. Well last week and half there's been a flurry of Tweets & in at least one he apologized. And he's tweeting almost like he's responding to us. Close enough. If that weren't coincidence enough, not three days before he posted the pic of himself in the wetsuit I'd seen the new Star Trek movie and had sent a picture of the wetsuits they wear in one scene to my Skype buddies and said "I want to see Damo in a wetsuit" Hot damn I got my wish!
Sooo....
Pure speculation and wishful thinking but make of that what you will.

This is most intriguing. I do watch Star Wars and would be interested (delighted?) to see him in the next film. Anyone know where it fits into the arc?
Do you think he has finished his filming for Ripper Street as he posted about a coffee shop in London?
I'm sure it would be good for his career due to exposure, but I hate Star Wars. That's right, hate. The dialogue is so boring. I don't think I could bring myself to watch it.

Playing a little bit of devil's advocate here but...
Coffee tweets in London, yeah he's back in London for now, it could just that he's back to spend some time with his girl. I'm assuming he's still filming Ripper Street (I wish someone would pull their finger out and give us some information about his role, even if it's just a name!) and as for his name coming off the betting list, that in itself could just mean nothing. If you believe the press and television media, his name isn't even being considered, they are so set on their own interpretation of who Twelve will or should be.
I do like Star Wars, my brother is an afficionado, has loved them since he was a little boy so i've watched the films over the years and in absolute truth, i could not see him in such a role. I really can't but we shall wait and see.
