Reading your post and another thought pops into my brainbox saemay. Although we observe Good Hal's struggle, there is something enigmatic about him..in the sense that his struggle is so ..private and heavy..and he doesn't talk about it..he may have his melodrama, with his OCD tendencies and odd pompous outburst..usually at Tom..but he is contained and ultimately alone in that struggle..there is a kind of kinetic energy, a tension..a radiating tangible pain almost...for a long long time. It is that, I think that literally tugs at my heart.

I think bad Hal has always been there simmering away under the surface & we'd seen glimpses of him with Hal's dry wit & irritability. Proper bad Hal is just deliciously evil. Confident, cruel, he does sing (& dance!) & is as sexy as hell. The difference between the two simply in body language is just amazing. Got to love a bad boy.

Hmm possibly but it was still good Hal!!! when bad Hal came to the surface it was a big deal. and he didn't get much air time compared to good Hal, so I'm surprises many people voted that way!!!

I'm not convinced....he did tell Alex that he was going to hurt her! And "I'm not nice"....
And I definately think Lady Catherine had more fun!
I think in that respect, under the influence but not completely 'gone, Hal was 'rather naughty Hal' rather than good or bad Hal....I still can't decide.
The gaps closing !!! Imho it was good Hal in that scene he was not all smooth and incontrol more of an awkward drunk !!! Good Hal warned Alex he might hu xxxrt her bad Hal would not of. How about that scene where he is drinking Alexs blood off the floor? I think that was still good Hal!!!

So here's a thought.....are you voting for the aspect of Hal's character or the performance?
The thought just occured to me that I would absoltely, immovably vote for bad Hal every time. But most of the screen caps on my tablet (oh yes...I have a few!) are of good Hal.....and a lot of the bits that I watch over and over are too. Because that is when Damien is most captivating.
I've already voted anyway, but was just a thought.....

Well i suppose all the Hals are awesome. Good Hal is so weird, but in a really nice way. But on the other hand human Hal is just adorable!!!! so cute and awkward But evil Hal is just soooooooo SEXY!!!! And that is what made me vote for him. I mean who could resist the charms of evil Hal???
For me we get to see more aspects of Hal when he is good Hal.... we even get to see the struggle with bad Hal...he only becomes bad Hal when good Hal is all the way gone!
So I agree with you HalGal from a few comments back, the gobbling maggoty blood off the floor was good Hal, surrendering to his bloodlust but he had not yet reverted into the whole bad Hal persona!
And I am definitely of the opinion that the bar stool manoeuvre scene was still good Hal, drunk good Hal, he would not have been so clumsy and anti slick, or warned her, if it was PBH (Proper Bad Hal!)
