I believe Colin Hoult writes the material, and from the description below, it is going to be one amazing, surreal. wonderful show..
"Master character comedian Colin Hoult presents his much anticipated debut comedy series for BBC Radio 4. Enter the Carnival of Monsters, a bizarre and hilarious world of sketches, stories and characters, presented by the sinister Ringmaster.
Meet such monstrous yet strangely familiar oddities as: Thwor - the mighty (but Leeds based) God of Thwunder; Len Parker - Nottingham born martial arts and Transformers enthusiast; Anna Mann - outrageous star of such forgotten silver screen hits such as Rogue Baker, Who's For Turkish Delight and A Bowl For My Bottom and many more."
Colin Hoult’s Carnival of Monsters – The Radio 4 Series
This beauty is being recorded at the Drill Hall on 5th April (with Dan Snelgrove and Zoe Gardner) and 8th May (with Zoe and Damien Moloney of Being Human super fame).
Tickets have all been booked up I’m afraid but the shows will be airing in early July. Theme wise its a direct follow on from my Edinburgh Shows which some of you may have seen and so it’ll include the vast majority of my old characters and sketches plus plenty of new goodies and guffaws. (Still trying to make Eddie St Germaine Cartestian work for radio – determined to get him in somehow!)
Hope you hear soon Su and all other forum folk who applied !!! Has anyone seen Colin Hoult as a comic before? I never heard of him before BH!!! I've no idea how these things work , do you get told way in advance or near to show time?xxx

The website says you will know 2 weeks before the show which would make it mid April before we find out...bit frustrating since they must have allocated tickets by now!
We will just have to be patient and keep our fingers crossed xx

As for tickets i have applied for tickets through bbc tickets and i heard that i got tickets about two weeks before the recording so don't give up on thinking you haven't got tickets.
Good extra info Su and denton83, I'm sure others find that helpful to hear. keep your chin up Molonians!
I wonder what selection process they use ? Not first come first served or random I assume, and the application questions suggest demographics (I didnt apply for self, but did for Laura while she was out of the country).
Does anyone know anything much about the show and what Damien might be doing in it? I saw Colin Holt in Life's Too Short the other day, weird seeing him not as Crumb, but it was good!!!

I asked Colin for a hint of Damien's apperance on twitter, so I could write something for the fansite on it, but I guess it is hard to hint without being spoilerish! Curious to know if Damien will be appearing as himself, or as a character scripted by Colin!
Colin is a king of comedic characters - as you saw on Life's Too Short - so his show will be filled with them, there is a little write up in the links given in this topic so far Halgal:
"Enter theCarnival of Monsters, a bizarre and hilarious world of sketches, stories and characters, presented by the sinister Ringmaster.
Oh yes. . . now my mind is bubbling! Is Damien going to be himself . . . Or a character Colin has created. . . It would be very un-colin like to just let Damien be . . . Damien xD . . . So i also think it would be awesome to hear Damien as a character Colin came up with :)

Anyway, must dash. Friend about to kill lots of people.
I'm devostated :( last week My mum said we would get tickets and there were plenty availble, but she said to go back to it the next day so I did and it was all sold out :( I'm dying to meet him...
I feel your pain OfficiallyLoveHal. There is the massive consolation though that those of us who will not be at the recording do get to hear the show on the radio in July!
and..Damien has a long career ahead, plenty of stage door type opportunities in the future!
