Ruby - I agree that, under the circumstances, Lord Harry could "erupt brutally through" (you do have a way with words!) - I'm quite happy with that idea.....it's the fact that he can't remember what happened that bothers me. 'Lord Harry' appears to be perfectly aware of Hal, and Hal apparently never forgets anything.......
In this series Hal's default setting seems to have been deciet - and he seems to decieve people very effectively (possibly even himself). In the deleted scene he tells Crumb "anything you think of I thought of 100 years ago" - or 'it's not possible to get one over on me'. So, because I have problems with the 'split personality' thing, I can't be certain that it isn't an act! He really wanted to get out of that chair!
I don't really think it makes much sense for the rest of the scene though - his whole attitude once Crumb lets him out of the chair is very....defeatist. In fact the suggested 'inevitability' of Hal's situation right the way through this series is starting to depress me a bit.
