@domino I was tempted to tweet him something like "are you in your clothes or out of them?" but that would have been reaaallly weird.
OF COURSE I DID mean in costume or in his "civvies". (though his costume IS what they've referred to as "civvies" on the show)

@fifi lol! we need some kind of SQUEEEometer here!
@starbolt welcome again! cannot wait to see Damien in Ripper Street d back on our tv screens again! As a drama it is perhaps more grim than fun, but I think I know what you mean.
@whimsy OF COURSE YOU did.
I guess being on or out of constume depends on if Damien is still filming scenes, or if he returned for the interviews.
I think they only have one or two costumes they each wear for this series. He has a light bowler hat on in the only picture we've seen of him.... That's what I look for when I play spot the DaMo.

Except, a whole crop of these pictures appeared on the same day and Damien tweeted that he saw Danny Kendrick ( who he appeared with in IYDLUDWWLYS ) on that day.. I guess that could have been in Dublin not London.....
The BBC tend to only release pics and their publicity material very near to the air dates of the show. But fingers crossed that there were wider media interviews. Ripper Street not being a sci if drama, we will not be getting the Sfx ( and other media of that ilk ) coverage we had with BH sadly. Hopefully many other media will have had access though. how amazing if Damien and his people were to grant us a fan led interview ?
From damos #behindthescenes I feel like he may of been being interviewed for the DVD behind the scenes stuff rather than promo stuff.....I hope I'm wrong coz I would love to see an interview from him xx

You may well be right Su, or that could just be referring to the context of the interview shown in the photo? It showed crew and camera equipment which could imply it, but equally what if it were a digital spy interview or something something something ?
i got the same impression Su, that it's likely for DVDs.
domino, I thought he was in London as well. lots of back n forth. the man is giving me whiplash! lol

Very sorry, not new photos, but these pics of Damien with MyAnna Buring who plays Long Susan, have taken on a a whole new meaning since the news of Damien being cast in Ripper Street!
(fingers crossed we will see pictures of the 2 cast members in character in coming weeks!)
There was a certain point in one of the interviews when MyAnna Buring, who was with Damien at the awards, turned to look at him when talking about Ripper Street, and we all wondered....
And now we know!
Imagine how exciting it will be to to find a photo of these 2 in costume when Ripper Street airs!
I cannot help but think that Det. Flight is going to come off far better in the costume department than long Susan, hers are gorgeous to look at, but even breathing in those corsets?
For anyone who may have missed the Interviews Damien and MyAnna did at the First Light Awards, check this one out particularly for the look MyAnna gave to Damien when talking about the second series of Ripper Street (which all makes sense now!)
I seriously cannot wait until we see more photos of them in costume/character. I really am super stoked over the fact that Damien has been cast in Ripper Street. I watched and loved the first season (thanks to a co-worker turning me onto the show). When the news was official I nearly exploded with joy.
Corsets I think were created by the devil. I have worn one for a Halloween costume (I was a Victorian era vampire) and oh my dear Lord. First I had to be peeled out of it toward the end of the night and my ribs hurt so badly. Breathing was difficult after a few hours. I can't even imagine being in it for long hours of filming.
BBC America has a series 2 confirmed air date of December 1st for you US fans! We are still waiting for the UK date official confirmation.
( So we don't get our topics in a muddle though, we are talking about air dates here )
The whole corsets concept would feel a whole lot better it there was an equivalent for men, it seems unfair that a woman's body had to be so idealised in shape that it was trussed up in that fashion. Equivalent Male torture would go some way to redressing the imbalance lol!
I wonder if Damien's character photo and profile will end up on the official BBC Ripper Street site character page? it seems as if the main characters only are on there.
