Before Damien went to Drama school, he appeared in one act play Riders To The Sea (by John Millington Synge), touring across Ireland and winning the One-Act Festival in 2007.

thank you to fifi for finding these pics!

Well done Fifi for finding those pics - great detective skills!

Doesn't he look young (and with really big hair!)?

I don't know how you found these but you are awesome fifi!  & you too domino.  What a gem of a find!

hehehe... so shaggy.  the man truly knows how to grow hair.  must be all that coffee!

I sent the Balally Players a message asking if they plan to put any of their video recordings of the productions up on their You Tube channel.  Don't want to step on anyone's toes or anything but I'm sure the more people show interest the better.

It is exciting t even know there is a video out there! have written to the Balally Players from the fnasite too whimsy, so fingers crossed! publishing video footage may be an issue for some of the actors, as is so often the case with recorded footage of live theatre.. but even excerpts would be fantastic!

here are some more images from the site, frames taken from the video

Oh wow! Well done Fifi and Domino. Fabulous photos. All that hair. He must have disliked having to keep it so short for 2 years while he was in Being Human and Travelling Light. :D

It really is a treat to see Damien in some of his earliest theatre work - even before Drama Centre London!

Huge thanks must also go to Neil at London Theatre - I had never heard about Damien's one-act play until reading this interview, which has informed the new page I am writing for the fansite right now, which fifi is kindly proofreading for me and found these awesome photos!

By all accounts it looks like a tragic play - especially for Damien's character. Has anyone read it?

It is an unbelievable amount of hair for a gentleman (too long in my view actually, but that's just me! ). I don't think he's going to be a baldy later in life, lol!

He has good hair but personally think shorter hair suits him better.

No response on the video, but for those who want to read the play

Riders To The Sea

(warning: it is a tragedy in every sense of the word!)

Thanks domino - I wanted to read this.  It's not exactly a happy tale is it?  I've got everything crossed that we can get to see some video footage...
