As much as I wouldn't call Ripper Street something so fragile and temporary as a snowflake - it is fierce and textured and leaves an indelible impression on the mind, and heart - I do love this analogy of the situation:

"The idea of something so beautifully made being crushed by a celebrity reality show is like a flamethrower melting a snowflake. Ratings may be everything nowadays, even to the BBC, but the price of that silly battle to get more people watching during peak hours will be the annihilation of one quality drama after another, trampled by the clodhoppers of reality TV. It's such a shame."

 

yeah I saw that whimsy, we have the poll one in this topic i was gonna add this one at some point.. but like you feel a bit meh about it... and to be honest I had forgotten, thanks for posting it! lol, that is critics for you! good to see Being Human mentioned too though, recognition of both shows at all is always heartening.
